Wait, did Quick fly over to Colorado to cover a physical?

This is scary. He signs QO, meaning he will be a unrestricted free-agent this summer. And if I'm correct, we can't offer an extension during this year right?

No, I'm pretty sure that we can offer an extension at any point this season. I'll look that up, though.

I could see myself, if I was Oden, playing like a mini-Beast for 45 games this year, thinking to myself "I've made 30M in the last 5 years, I don't really NEED the $$" and just going where I wanted to to hang out with friends and play ball. Maybe that's MIA or NYK for him. Maybe it's IND or CLE.

If he can stay remotely healthy, he'll be almost as big a star as Shaq.

This makes the most sense for everyone. If he stays healthy and plays he will be happy. If he is happy he will re-sign with Portland IMO.

If he can't make it through the year then he will be frustrated and leave. But in that case we would not want to sign him to a new contract anyway.

I'm not gonna lie but this line-up looks pretty sexy to me.

PG: Felton, SG: Roy (Allstar form) or Wes Matthews, SF: Wallace, PF: LMA, Center: Oden (at least how he played before his last injury)

As usual the big "IF" is in effect here but IF that line-up played up to even "most" of it's potential it could be very very good. (Fingers crossed) I just really want a fun, healthy season. We have earned it.

Yeah the days of Blazer fans and our bad luck needs to turn over. Personally I think it has. Hopefully we can get Oden healthy and sign him to a manageable multi-year contract. Just that alone will wipe the Roy issue completely clean.

We can offer all we want but Oden doesn't have to accept anything. This pretty much guarantees Oden will take off next year.

Even next year if they let Brandon go and add Freedland then they would be in pretty good shape. If Elliott William develops........

They would need to add one more PG for depth. They could get a back up Vet.

Or it could mean that the offers coming in weren't to their liking. Maybe they want to prove they can earn more? Maybe Oden has enough confidence that his injuries are behind him, that he is willing to prove it. And if that's the case, I have no doubt Brass will ante up.

Greg will play healthy this season. He'll play like a man. Then he'll break the bank. And that's a pretty big bank.

    Go Blazers!

Even though he will be a free agent cant we offer him more than anyone else this summer? I would think if thats the case and he played well enough that would conversely mean that the Blazers played well. So then we would have a good team that could offer him the most money.

If Oden really wanted to stay in Portland, this entire process would have played out differently. For people wanting Oden in Portland this was the worst case scenario as the Blazers have no leverage.

Like I said above. It could mean that the offers coming in weren't to his liking. This is actually positive because GO's camp actually believe they can earn a better contract. If that happens, I doubt Brass won't argue they will pay him. You do know if they took any offer, Brass can match and he's locked for those years. This way, they can earn a higher contract and get it from the Blazers.
