<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Defensive end Grant Wistrom, recently released by the Seattle Seahawks after a disappointing three-year stint with the club, said this week that he will retire. Seattle paid Wistrom, 30, a nine-year veteran, a $14 million signing bonus to lure him away from St. Louis in 2004, but he produced only 11? sacks in three years. ... Georgia State University, a commuter school located in downtown Atlanta that is considering starting a Division I-AA football program from scratch, has hired former NFL coach Dan Reeves as a consultant. Part of Reeves' job will be to stir interest in the potential inception of a football team and to aid in fundraising. If the school decides to move forward, Reeves would probably help select the program's first coach. ... Former first-round tailback Trung Canidate, who hasn't played in the league since 2004 because of foot injuries, is gauging interest around the league in a possible comeback. ... In his latest attempt to get back into the league, wide receiver Charles Rogers, the 2003 first-round choice of Detroit but released by the Lions last year, worked out for the New York Giants this week. ... As promised, Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden, who has eschewed the use of the shotgun formation his entire NFL career, has incorporated it into the Bucs' offense this spring. ... Defensive tackle Grady Jackson, who is suing the Falcons for defamation and invasion of privacy, contending that team officials leaked information about an allegedly failed physical exam to the media, continues to be a no-show at the club's voluntary workouts. Andrews has only three career starts, but is a superior athlete and could project as the team's starter at right tackle. ... The Lions could send backup quarterback Josh McCown to Oakland in a trade, but would prefer to make the deal closer to the draft, and perhaps even right before the lottery officially begins.</div>
I think you meant to put this in the NFL forum? Anyways....Rumor Mill has it Charles Rogers ran a 4.9 in that workout with the Giants. If true, his career is over. With the Jets and Stacy Andrews I'm interested, but the price tag is kinda excessive. If we could work out a trade for a 3rd rounder or so I'd be alot more supportive of the move.

I think it's a 2nd or nothing.
