A user at RealGM posted some great quotes from an "interview" he had with a slew of Bulls. I find that the comments about Morrow are particularly interesting: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1053046
Pax makes a good case for going after Reddick, I suppose, but failing to get Reddick, wouldn't Morrow have been a reasonable fallback position? He can talk about the "unbalanced" game that Morrow has, but to say that Brewer's game is any more balanced is hogwash. The guy can't hit 3pt shots, and we need 3pt shooting so the TEAM is balanced. From what I've seen of him, Brewer's game is a lot like Deng's without the outside shooting. That is, slashing and finishing around the hoop with an array of close in moves. Missing out on Morrow (and Reddick) means we'll be playing one of the most one dimensional players in the league (Korver) a lot of minutes, or counting on 3pt shooting from places we've never gotten it from before.
I tend to look Brewer as a better player than Deng but for the shooting aspect. Unfortunately that's a pretty huge aspect. In some circumstances though , I could see a Korver/Brewer lineup being better than Deng plus either of them. Even though in the abstract Demg is the best single player.
Reddick is the better player, although many Bulls fans didnt like the fact that the Bulls wanted him. JJ's defense has improved as well. So he is a better all around player than Brewer, that being said, we needed someone to be able to defend at the SG position once Reddick was resigned. Brewer was the next best option imo. His D is better than Marrows. Too bad we couldn't have had the opportunity to sign a SG that could score and play D. No one was available.
