Despite doctors telling him that his wrist rehab should take him into mid-May, Jefferson insists he will return for the first round in mid-April if the Nets qualify, just as Terrell Owens came back from ankle surgery to play in the Super Bowl.

"I will be back for the playoffs," Jefferson said yesterday. "My cast comes off around March 20, maybe a little before that. Give me a month or so of rehab. I won't be at 100% but I will definitely be capable of helping the team."</div>

idk about you guys but i find this a lil selfish. like hes puttnig his career on the line(almost wat hill did) for the playoffs which they know for a fact there not even gunan win the title if they get there. so for the sace of the nets and himself he shouldnt play.................................................also i think the nets are more entertaining with out him lol [IMG]

I don't think it's neccesary, I don't think they'll make the playoffs even, but I don't know how much he'd help them either with the injury because before he went out he was hurting them because he was taking the most shots, and hitting about 33%.

He won't help them much, if at all if he rushes back..

Not really worth it, I mean anything can happen once or better yet if we get in the playoffs. But its hard to invision us getting past the Heat, Pistons etc.. this year. He rather get 100% healthy. And come into training camp full strenght. And then him & Vince can have time to learn how to play off one another. The way they looked on the floor before he got hurt wasnt that great, they both kind of held each others play down because they are so similiar. They are going to need time to learn to compliment each other. So they wouldnt be that effective right now in the playoffs together, probably hold each other back if anything. But after training camp & preseason working out & playing together, that is going to be a sick combination.

he's gonna be taking shots away from carter...
and the net's won't be used to playing with him (and it's the playoffs where TEAMS win)
I like RJ, and I admire his tenacity, but i have a feeling he just doesn't wanna be left out.

Jefferson will be used for defense, as a fastbreak option, and as slasher. Don't expect to see the same Richard Jefferson from the beginning of this season, with Carter in town his role will become more limited, but thankfully more defined.

Good for RJ if he can make it back in time for the playoffs. Perhaps with Carter, Kidd, and Jefferson back and healthy The New, New Jersey Nets could make it into the 2nd round. Hell, maybe even challenge for a spot in The Eastern Conference Finals if Indiana and Detroit don't get their acts together. However, I still question New Jersey's frontline, even in The East that front court still has more holes than Gregg Popovich's face...

    DAMN HOMIE!

He should not rush things. Take the time to heal. Its very important.

I was scared TO was gonna have a career ending injury, but he played great. King James X3, you might be right, he may have a more defined role now, and since he was never one with a big ego, it could work out.

Well it's still a very different situation than TO. For one thing, it's Jefferson's wrist, not his ankle. It is a lot easier to reinjure an ankle since you are constantly running and landing on it. WIth the wrist, it can be wrapped still and won't be used as much. Still there is a possibility of injuring it again. I hope he really thinks the decision over. THe Nets are looking to make a push next season, and he'd better fit for then. The team is not competing for a championship like the Eagles were. Also, Carter and Jeff still haven't learned to play off each other yet, and it might shake team chemistry.
