He should've realized that it wasn't doing any good to either himself or the team when he was on the floor. I think he was overhyped being in his hometown and all and wanted to show off to his friends and family members.
I could see why he was upset with being in NY and all but he just wasnt playing well. he might have been nervous or was trying to do abit too much which caused his struggles.
Man, that would be a little irrational after one game of being benched don't you think, I don't think? I don't think any player would ask for a trade after being benched once lol
I lose respect for players when they start whining like this. He should understand that it was only two games that he has really had to sit out, both times he was not helping the team at all. At the same time, I don't think Mitchell should be so quick to bench people when they're not doing well. People have slumps and the better players will usually work their way out of them. Skip has been the Raps most consistent player, and Mitchell should realize that. Last year, Lammond mentioned that the bench players would be afraid of making any mistake because KO would just bench immediately. I don't want Skip to be playing out of fear of being benched, which complicates problems even more.
so far i don't have any complaints sam's coaching...but this is the first time i might agree with one of his players...alston gives the raps his all, he did dash up some nasty three's yesterday and wasn't his typical skip to my lou self...but i think in the final minutes of the 4th, he would be one of the guys i would want on the floor...i was surprised not to see marshall, and alston teamed with carter and rose in the final minutes ...all pretty much 3 point threats... lately it looks like jr and vc have formed an alliance and they don't seem to want to buy in team play...or admit that the rest of the team gives it there all...but rafeer is a team player and he can be counted on to defend his team...
alston needs to settle...he didnt deserve to be playing that game, palacio was much more effective. he'll be ok
He was trying too heard yesterday. That 3 point streak got to his head and he rushed some shots, and it ended.
Normally I would not question the decision to bench Rafer, but in this case I have to side with him. There's a double standard when you don't bench Carter or Rose for getting off to poor starts. Rafer has been their best and most consistent player and I'm sure he's wondering why his coach gave up on him so fast and didn't allow him back in the game. Rafer deserved to be pulled, but not for the duration of the game. If the Raptors headcoach wants to keep the chemistry in tact, it has to start with the PG, and if he wanted to make a statement, he needs to address set an example with Vince and/or Rose.
Yea but Milt was playing well, that's the thing, Milt was carrying the second unit, if Milt didn't do anything, Rafer would defiantely have come back in, but his 1-9 FG, and 0-5 3PT definately wasn't helping the team.
NYC is home to And1...Skip has to feel kindda embarassed about not gettin enough playin time on his home turf
He was really struggling. I do feel him about performing in front of his family and friends but, he has to understand it is the team first and everything else second. When you perform badly by shooting 1-9, you can't expect to continue playing many more minutes, especially when you have someone like Milt Palacio with the hot hand.
anybody else like the notion of playing milt alongside rafer for the defensive intensity? i know they could get posted up but most shooting guards don't post up anymore.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting deception:</div><div class="quote_post">anybody else like the notion of playing milt alongside rafer for the defensive intensity? i know they could get posted up but most shooting guards don't post up anymore.</div> The reason why some shooting guards don't post up as much as they used to, is because they're not as many mismatches. When AI played as a SG He played players like T-Mac and many other players who were mostly 5 inches taller than him. They will provide many mismatches but, I guess maybe they should be given a shot to see how effective it can be.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DerfZ:</div><div class="quote_post">who would u have come off the bench for the 1 then?</div> milt off the bench, but i think a trade has to be going down soon and that will shakeup the lineup.
