On Wednesday, the Colts agreed to a a six-year, $39 million deal with Reggie Wayne that kept the Colts from designating him their franchise player. The Indianapolis Star reported that the Colts released defensive tackle Josh Williams and backup quarterback Travis Brown. Cutting Williams saved the team $1.3 million in salary cap room, but he will still count $2.4 million against the cap.Williams' agent could not be reached for comment by The Associated Press. The Colts made no announcements about any of the moves."They wanted us to come back and be there, and we spoke quite often," Pompey said.Brock joined the Colts in 2002 as a free agent after Philadelphia drafted him in the seventh round out of Temple. The Eagles relinquished his rights in July 2002 when they ran out of money to sign rookies.Since then Brock has become a mainstay on the Colts defensive line. He started six games as a rookie and all 32 games the next two years, recording 133 tackles and 9 1/2 sacks in his first three seasons.Last season, Brock blossomed. He finished seventh on the team in tackles, with a career-high 56, and third in sacks. The Colts like Brock's versatility. The 6-foot-4, 274-pound veteran plays both end and tackle."I think they wanted to make sure Raheem was comfortable playing inside and outside," Pompey said. "It really doesn't matter him. He just wants to play."The Colts still have 11 players who could become unrestricted free agents next week, including two-time NFL rushing champ Edgerrin James, starting linebacker David Thornton, defensive tackle Larry Tripplett and former Pro Bowl kicker Mike Vanderjagt.
