    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On June 24, 2004 when Russ Granik announced the 32nd overall pick in the NBA Draft, a widespread mix of emotions surely grasped those that still watched the proceedings. From ?we got our guy?, to ?they got our guy?, to ?Peter Who? Who??, the Wizards second round pick, though promising, was anything but a household name.

    So as the guest of a recent radio talk show, Wizards General Manager Ernie Grunfeld sat to shed some light on Peter John Ramos, the Wizards second round draft choice in the 2004 NBA Draft and a player that until recently was largely unknown outside of scouting circles.

    </div>

    The steal of the draft IMO. He and kwame should form an awesome tag team in the post within 3 years, I have heard Peter Ramos is a fast learner and should develop quick.

    Take Notice

    Great find - that's interesting. Didn't know much about him, except that the Wiz got him with good value at 32. It's interesting though - the Wiz have no shortage of good Cs that play their role and play it well, are young, and can develop into something. And with Kwame playing C a little bit this year, what will happen with a Haywood/Kwame/Etan/Ramos logjam at C? Not that that's a problem. [IMG]

    Well I dont think Haywood will be with the Wizards much longer, I think drafting Ramos clarified that..Haywood is just lazy and doesnt work on his game like he should.

    And for Etan, he is no good as a starter..he doesnt know what to do..when he was made a starter last year his numbers took a hit, so we moved him back to 6th man and he started to produce again..so I dont think he will contest for that job down the line.

    I dont know exactly how many years..but here is an interesting fact: He is only 3 years and 1 day older than me..

    I think he will be starting by his 3rd year..I think he is going to be a star..maybe not an allstar..maybe a Brad Miller star type of player..maybe more..Him and Kwame are going to be our future though..I hope he isnt rushed to develop.

    Who knows when he'll start. He could never start, if he doesn't develop his body, and his skills. But you can't time development. But if I absolutely had to guess, I would say three to four years.

    Oh, Well I've been following Ramos for awhile at Puerto Rico, I've been watching him for a while, thats what I meant. And I really like him, it's not that i'm also Puerto Rican, Im a huge fan of the NBA (and NFL) I watch all the games I can. I really like Ramos's chances at Washington. I dont think he'll be a big bust like everyone says that they hope he's not. Well i'm 5 years older than him. He's a huge guy for only 19. But I think everyone will like him.

    Well he was a sceond round pick, so as long as he's in the NBA, he really can't be a bust lol

    Yeah, I agree with you og15. And I don't think he will be a bust anyway. I think he will be a quality starter. He could be really good a actually, at 7'3 I hope he doesn't fail.

    At that height, all he has to do is to put forth the effort. Talk about winning the gene pool lottery!

    I agree, PJR, should be a great presence down low, and Kwame and Him should tag up together to become a dominant force in the east! I read alot about him this summer and i read some stuff about him averaging 20ppg last year, so that is good news, b/c once you are a scorer u r always a scorer, it might take him some time to adapt to the NBA, but when he does he will be GOOD!

    Ramos has been playing basketball for about only 5 years, he's a very good learner, his athelism is just freakish for a 7"3 300 pound man (he gained 30 pounds) He's a very good passer, I saw him throw alley opps to big men, he has decent perimeter skills, his jumpshot is consistant, I'm talking a Zydrunas type jumpshot, his post game isn't dominant yet, but he can work on it. Decent blocker, decent rebounder, very good scorer. He doesn't get tired, he's a freak. the guy use to play High School games and professional games on the SAME day in Puerto Rico. Very promisng, just needs to get motivated
