Randy Foye, Rodney Carney to miss Minnesota Timberwolves' next game

Already shorthanded, the Timberwolves will be down two more players for Wednesday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Shooting guard Randy Foye watched today's practice with a walking boot on the right ankle he sprained with 5:31 remaining in Monday night's 110-99 loss to Washington.

Reserve forward Rodney Carney missed the second half of that game after suffering a deep bruise to his groin/lower abdomen and also is out.

Carney said he hopes to be back for Friday night's game against the New York Knicks. So does Foye, although that might be overly optimistic.

Besides the sprained ankle — which he suffered after going up for a lob pass, coming down on the foot of Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton — Foye already was hurting after re-aggravating a hip injury.

"If it was up to me, I would try to play tomorrow," Foye said. "But they just told me to sit out a couple days, 48 hours, and see how it feels."

Monday's injuries were yet another blow to a Wolves team that has gone 1-12 since star center Al Jefferson went down with a season-ending knee injury.
