1-0 OT win as Hank gets a much needed shutout. Miller with the winner in OT. This should be a huge help in his confidence coming back.
Rangers have been uninspiring in most weekend afternoon games going back to the Torts days, but the real story here is Hank getting a much needed shutout which will hopefully get him rolling again. This was the old Lundqvist, when it's obvious the offense isn't on their game he just buckles down and says fine, nothing will get by me and we will win this game. And hopefully it shuts up all those critics who couldn't wait to bail on him after all he's done for this franchise. For a little while at least. Good two points.
It's all about the Ws. Good team win. The Kings tomorrow night. Kings watched game in their hotel rooms waiting for Rangers.
The Rangers are right where they want to be right now. With games in hand factored in they are 9 points up for the top WC spot, which means Atlantic bracket and Montreal/Ottawa/Toronto/Boston, and no Pitt/Wash/CBJ until the ECF if they get there (and only can play 1 of those teams). For a goalie who is too old, done, awful now, and should be bought out, Hank has done pretty well the past two games.
^^^^^ If playoffs were tomorrow, Rangers first round opponent would be Montreal. Just a note: Last Ranger home win was December 27. '
Good win, great job by Hank to get 2 points. With his contract nobody can bail on Hank, he's being paid for a long time and is having a tough year (2.77 GAA/.904save%). All that is irrelevant come playoff time but with 35 games left I'd like to see Hank get some rest. The Rangers need old Hank to make any kind of playoff run. Zban won 68% of his faceoffs but the Rangers finished with only 45% as a team. They're 29th in the league right now, AV needs to get that figured out. The next 4 games LA, Philly, BJs, Buff all physical teams going to be a challenge.
You'd think after 6y he wouldn't suck so bad at it anymore.lol Hopefully Hayes is ok and Raanta is back though they may give him through the break.
