Rank in terms of who you most want to keep. LaMarcus Oden Wallace Wes Nic Miller Camby Elliot Rudy Babbitt Patty Chris J Armon Roy sad but have to because of his contract
LaMarcus = 100% Oden = 100% Wallace = 100% Wes = 65% Nic = 90% Miller = 70% Camby = 50% Elliot = N/A Rudy = 10% Babbitt = N/A Patty = 30% Chris J = 70% (I really think he will be a Cliff Robinson type value) Armon = N/A Roy sad but have to because of his contract = 100% (Too loyal and I love his heart!) N/A = Not enough information for me to think one way or another. Wouldn't miss them if they are traded.
LaMarcus Oden - the difference between greatness and mediocrity Nic - future is still way too bright Wallace Wes Miller - trade bait or solid starter for us Camby - trade bait or solid PF/C backup for us Elliot - hoping he's the steal of the draft Babbitt - hoping he finds his shooting touch and confidence to play at this level Patty - love his quickness and shooting touch Chris J - long! Armon Rudy - I'm soured on Euros!!! Roy - robbed of his athleticism; can he become a shooter?
Nic- glue is essential for this team's success, and an all-around talent like him, you just don't give away. LA Wes- still only 2 years into the league, and showed tremendous improvements in his game from season 1. Roy- sentimental reasons Oden- see Roy Wallace- simply from a talent perspective, we should keep him. Dre- to hold the fort and eventually help develop our long sought-after PGotF Rudy- I still think he has some mental issues to clear, and he can be like Nic, a glue guy Don't really care about the other guys.
I like the percentages, Mags LaMarcus = 100% (Face of the franchise) Oden = 100% (Older face of the franchise....potentially) Wallace = 100% (In the right system, he and Aldridge could be dominant) Nic = 100% (I would start him at the 2, but he is also a fine 6th man to have) Wes = 65% (Our version of the Microwave is what he would be for me) Armon = 55% (I'd rather see him stay than go, but don't really care. With work he could be a damn decent PG) Babbitt = 50% (I really don't care, but my friend still thinks he can play) Chris J = 50% (Couldn't care either way) Patty = 10% (Fan favorite is the only reason he gets any %) Miller = 0% (Never going to lead this team to the finals, so why keep him?) Elliot = N/A (Seems to have some slight upside, so whatever?) Camby = 0% (See Andre Miller) Rudy = 0% (Send his ass back to Europe. He will never really flourish under Nate, and may not under anyone) Roy =0% (It's sad about his knees, but he needs to go) Nate = -% (Just go away)
LaMarcus Aldridge (100%) Greg Oden (100%) Nic Batum (100%) Gerald Wallace (100%) Andre Miller (90%) Wes Matthews (80%) Brandon Roy (50%) Elliot Williams (40%) Rudy Fernandez (40%) Chris Johnson (30%) Luke Babbitt (20%) Armon Johnson (20%) Patty Mills (10%) Earl Barron (0%)
For some odd reason I really like the percentages format even though I have no idea what they represent. Maybe how much I would consider a trade undesirable... I would trade anyone on our team if a trade came along offering superior value, although with LaMarcus and some others I think it would be extremely unlikely. LaMarcus = 99% Oden = 92% Wallace = 91% Wes = 85% Nic = 82% Miller = 64% Camby = 57% Elliot = 50% Rudy = 35% Babbitt = 12% Patty = 8% Chris J = 7% Armon = 4% Roy = 2%
LaMarcus 100% Duh! Oden 95% Just wait til next year! Batum 90% Most valuable trade piece. With GW on the team, I'd move him for the PGOTPresent, but not to move up in the draft to draft some punk kid. Wallace 85% His age is showing though, settling for threes more than I was hoping for. His aggressive play style I'm sure has aged his body past his 28 years. He probably has 2-3 good years left though. Babbitt 75% I like Babbitt's chances. He needs to play to gain experience and confidence, that is all. He'll be in the rotation soon enough. Wes 70% Pretty good player. Elliot 60% Intrigued. Only saw him at fanfest. He seemed a really raw to me. Impressive athlete. Miller 55% Andre is a junk yard dog, and an absolute joy to watch sometimes with his old school demeanor and veteran savvy play, but he is way too iso oriented and ball dominate. He's the kind of player that can lead a bad team to mediocrity and carry a mediocre team to the playoffs, but his weaknesses are not conducive to playoff success and ultimately championship basketball. Alley oops are great, but the blazers need defense and shooting at the PG position. Sorry dog Camby 50% he could keep playing but I'd include him in a trade without batting an eyelash if it makes the team better. I don't care how much he wants to be in Portland or how great of a family man he is. Rudy 30% WTF is going on with you? Patty 20% It sounds like Paddy but there is no D to be found. Chris J 15% I'd keep him as a 5th big man. Armon 15% I'd keep him as a third guard point.
Many different factors go in to these percentages, included trade value, replacement players, contract status, and likelihood of being a key player on a title team. LMA 90% Wallace 80% Batum 80% Miller 50% Roy 50% Matthews 50% Camby 40% Rudy 25% Chris Johnson 25% Mills 10% Others 0%
LMA 100% Oden 100% Wallace 100% Batum 90% Wes 90% Williams 75% Miller 50% Camby 50% Chris J 25% Luke 25% Armon 25% Patty 10% Roy 0% I really hate putting Roy at the bottom but his knees are gone and when he is on the floor except for some glimpses of brilliance he really drags the offense down. Also once he came back LMA reverted back to taking more jumpers dunno if its a coincidence but it happened. I see us trying to get a few overpriced players in the new CBA if there isn't some sort of hardcap and pretty much sacrifice the next 4 years of all draft picks/prospects/capspace ect to try and win now.
That's pretty close to what I was thinking ... though I'd probably toss Wesley in there knowing that he played on a jacked up ankle for the last 30 or so games of the season and I think he's a pretty good (not great) player.
It was a tough choice against Barron, but I decided that Roy barely has more potential, though he shouldn't aspire to the Mills level. I put Oden over Johnson because I expect him to play more games sometime in their careers, about 20 vs. 15 for Johnson. Gerald Wallace Andre Miller LaMarcus Aldridge Marcus Camby Wes Matthews Rudy Fernandez Chris Johnson Nic Batum Luke Babbitt Elliot Williams Patty Mills Brandon Roy Earl Barron Greg Oden Armon Johnson
