o.k. so i don't know how to do the fancy game threads so this is all u get boys and girls, unless someone wants to outdo me. Key Matchup: Joe Johnson vs. Raptor Guards X Factor: TJ Ford Storyline: Sam Mitchell is dead man walking; atlanta is currently on a four game losing streak; is chris bosh's knee good after that nasty fall?
<div class="quote_poster">P.A.P. Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">That was a double dribble by Pachulia on their 2nd FG.</div> noticed the same thing but bosh applied no pressure throughout that entire move. garbosa is everywhere
<div class="quote_poster">Eclipse Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Hopefully we will get a hand up on at least one of Johnson's and Smith's shots tonight.</div> i would take my chances with smith but i would triple team joe johnson. bosh just gave up a wide open three on a pick and roll sequence
Bosh with no points and no rebounds in 8 minutes? He usually gets off to a fast start and then fades in the second half.
Game notes: 1. Fred Jones is terrible today. The guy does nothing but gamble on defense and take crappy shots. 2. I don't understand our offensive philosophy: first we find Garbo for 4 straight mid-range jumpers to start the game. After we totally get away from that and start having him shoot 3's. If we could just stick to our strengths we'd be much better. Positive part of this however is Garbo is having a good game. 3. Calderon > Ford ... yet again. TJ needs to start using his brain more 4. I think bosh is feeling the knee a little ...he just doesn't seem to be in it tonight.
Bosh got completely embarrassed by Smith. Wow. This game seems to be exposing his biggest weaknesses. Despite having bulked up and improved his offensive game, he can still be roughed up and taken out of his game. Zaza's no defensive specialist, but he's playing Chris tough and moving his well enough to force him into double teams and traffic.
anybody hear that, bosh "give me the ball"? i think bosh is really fatigued after the cleveland game. we lost the game in the third when we started to force into bosh with no avail. chuck needs to shutup btw
why isn't anthony parker on joe johnson? i don't like our chances with garbosa playing him and we aren't even playing zone to compensate for the lack of foot speed.
<div class="quote_poster">a13x Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> 3. Calderon > Ford ... yet again. TJ needs to start using his brain more </div> Just let me edit that out while no one is looking **cough** Well ... i dunno what to say we made a decent run at the end thanks to Ford's circus shots. It's too bad we didn't try and get Garbo going again he was having a good game. Just because we have to give Bargnani more minutes doesn't mean we have to leave rasho on the bench forever. That hardly seems justified, Rasho hasn't played that badly. I'd perfer if we made our lineup bigger and just took some minutes away from Graham, fred jones ... etc..
this game demonstrated all of sam mitchell's blunders- (1) going big in the closing minutes against a team whose best players are perimeter ones (johnson, lue and josh smith) (2) forcing it into bosh when it clearly wasn't his night and in the process taking the rhythm away from the players who had it going (garbosa, parker) (3) failing to instruct his players to stay with with joe johnson on all pick and roll sequences (4) keeping bosh out of the fourth quarter when atlanta made its run (5) staying with fred jones when he hasn't done anything to merit your confidence (6) i could go on but i won't
I read something at random that the scorers table messed up somwhere along the line. Any truth to this? I just saw this on another board.
It's pretty easy to tell that this team doesn't even respect Mitchell anymore. Not sure when it was, but during a timeout, Mitchell was still talking and players started leaving the bench, and Mitchell had to call them back. BTW, TJ Ford was on fire in the fourth.

its getting sensational, here's the play by play: http://www.nba.com/games/20061124/TORATL/playbyplay.html at 4:33 in the fourth quarter- the score was 86-78, ford hits a layup and the score should have been 86-80, but they don't count it and the score remains 86-78. this of course changes the course of the rest of the game, i.e the raptors having to foul. fyi- people say they have watched the tape and conclusively determined this happened and i as well don't remember ford missing anything until that final layup before he fouled out.
