I'm disgusted with the Raptors effort in this game, it was certainly winnable, and they blew it.
Quote:

Bulls Snap Six-Game Slide CHICAGO, Jan. 25 (Ticker) -- Jamal Crawford must have taken Scottie Pippen's criticism to heart. Crawford had 27 points and seven assists as the Bulls snapped a six-game losing streak with a 96-89 victory over the slumping Toronto Raptors Chicago's first win in more than two weeks came on the heels of the veteran Pippen's strong comments, in which he questioned the desire, effort and lack of improvement from his younger teammates. Crawford responded by making 9-of-14 shots. "My juices were flowing tonight," said Crawford. "I'm glad we came out with the win. We had to be more physical, more aggressive, and we did that tonight. "That was a good win," Chicago coach Scott Skiles said. "I have said many times, it may not seem like it but they are really practicing hard, trying to prepare. It's nice for them to have a win to show for it." All five starters scored in double figures for Chicago, including ex-Raptor Antonio Davis, who had 14 points and 14 rebounds. The game was the first between the teams since the December 1 trade that brought Davis, Jerome Williams and Chris Jeffries to Chicago for Jalen Rose, Donyell Marshall and Lonny Baxter. "You do not want to lose to you friends," Davis said. "I think we handled it very well. We are going to continue in the same direction. Coach stressed the sense of urgency for us to show everybody and prove to ourselves that we really want to win." Rookie Kirk Hinrich added 15 points and seven assists for the Bulls, who have defeated the Raptors three times in a row after dropping the previous 16.
Click the link below for the full Recap NBA.com Recap Box Score ------------------- For this loss I blame the awful defense, and Vince Carter. Jalen Rose, Donyell, and Bosh all did their part to help them win, except Vince. He shot an awful 6-23 from the field, and he had 6 turnovers. Right now you can't lay any excuses for Vince, Jack Armstrong said it himself that theres no excuses right now, you can't blame his quad. Vince's shot selection has been terrible, and his shooting percentage and scoring average have declined too much since 2000-2001. Vince's Decline 2000-2001: 75 games, 27.6ppg with an impressive 46% shooting. 2001-2002: 60 games, 24.7ppg, 42.8% shooting. 2002-2003: 43 games, 20.6ppg, 46.7% shooting. 2003-2004 (this season): 39 games, 20.7, 40.9% shooting. Yes you could say Vince has more help on offense now, but thats no excuse for his shooting percentage and shot selection to be so terrible. Were still not winning, and our so called "franchise" player isn't doing what he should be doing; getting to the basket instead of forcing up long fade-away jumpers. The last two games hes player more than 60 minutes and has only had 2 trips to the free throw line, along with that his 3pt attempts have gone up. What he needs to do for the rest of the season is drive to the basket and get to the line, once he starts doing that we might see the playoffs, right now those chances are fading away. By the way, I just happened to post this on Vince's 27th birthday, but he certainly wont get a happy birthday from me.
Vince started out the game good. Then he missed 2 layups and then a dunk. On those layups he should of dunked. I wish we could trade Carter. Something like VC for Big Z and Wagner or Dampier and J-rich.
Vince is going nowhere .. at least for this season .. I agree the game was horrible .. in exception of Chris Bosh .. every one should be blamed starting from Vince and Jalen ! .. I'm waiting for the philly game .. becasue it's either the " Turning Point " or the " Explosion Point " !
When you see that Vince misses an almost entirely open dunk, you know that something's wrong. That's the one shot he should NEVER miss.
I cant beleive he would miss shots even me, a 13 year old kid, could make. Jesus whats wrong with my raptors!!!
Game was bad Why are u guys bashing Carter so much for? He's INJURED, obviously he's not gonna play good, Jalen Rose forced him to play cuz he really wanted to beat his old team badly, Carter wouldnt' be playing now otherwise. You make it sound as if he has no potential. Do u remember when Antonio Davis was injured the previous season and before? He played pretty bad, but look how good he is when he isnt injured. They just need a sense of urgency thats all.

Jack Armstrong, the Raptors commentator for the Fan 590 radio said Vince has no excuses, he said his quad is fine. I'm sick of other people making excuses for Vince, it happens way to often. When you force up shots all season long (excluding the first 10 games) there are no excuses, because he wasn't injured all season. His low shooting percentage and shot selection is what really makes me mad, he has the talent to get to the basket, which eventually would win games for us because he'll be able to get to the line that way.
Vince and Jalen have a hand in why we are losing so much but c'mon, the real reason is the lack of effort on defense!! Its horrible. The Raptors better care about winning soon or they are gonna play themselves out of the playoff picture
Problem is VC not being at his best. Having an injured player that doesnt make his shots that we would make 100% is worse than having some worse player at 100% that does everything at his best. THat s what I think.

In a previous Toronto Sun article, Jalen did plead for Vince to play when he wasnt 100% as well. It is obvious when Vince doesnt drive the lane, he must be injured, why else would he do that?

All season hes been shooting a poor percentage because he hasn't been driving as much as he should. Stop making excuses for him, you should know like all other people that Vince isn't doing his job this season.

Yea its tru tho, bad shooting percentage. I think he lacks driving because the refs arent giving him any calls. And when u'r scared to drive the lane, u become dependent on shooting. and If you cant drive, ur shot will probably also be bad b/c of confidence factor. Oh well, what can you do... trade him? There are a hell of alotta underperformers this year. Tmac, Iverson, Marion etc. I dont care about their stats, only their ability to win games to make playoffs
I disagree with McGrady underachieving. He has the absolute worst team in the NBA on his side, so he has to work his ass off night after night. McGrady is trying to do everything he can do and the only reason they made it to the playoffs last year was because of the diff lineup they had, which McGrady fed off of and avgd. an amazing 32 ppg for the year. I just wish McGrady would leave that excuse of an NBA team alone and come to T.O. again. I'm sure he and Carter would get along so well....even if McGrady would most likely outshine Vince every game.
