Nov 9 - Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell does not plan to take his team's three-game losing streak sitting down.

He intends to stand up a lot tonight when the Raptors head into Philadelphia to take on the 76ers.

Actually, what Mitchell will do is sit second-year centre Andrea Bargnani to start tonight's game and replace him in the starting lineup with veteran Rasho Nesterovic.

"It's not a reflection on how Andrea has played," Mitchell said yesterday of the move. "I've talked to Andrea about it and he understands. It's just about trying to get the most out of our guys. It's about getting more production out of Rasho, and we think this is probably the only way we're going to do that." -- Toronto Sun

[*]The trickle-down effect should also help swingmen Anthony Parker and Jason Kapono, neither of whom have played particularly well. With Nesterovic playing much closer to the basket than Bargnani ever did, there should be more space for the shooters to shoot and Toronto's ball-movement offence should return to its form of last season.

"Where Andrea would normally get shots, that's normally AP and Jason Kapono (areas) and Rasho's going to be in a different spot on the floor in the offence," said Mitchell. -- Toronto Star

If AP, JK, and RN can get going because of this move and not at the expense of Bargs' confidence, then I'm all for it. Bargs has been a great starter in my opinion... to date.

... wasn't Rasho a bench player on his last team though???

Yea, I believe Rasho was eventually playing off the bench for Spurs.
