With another disappointed season in the books of a franchise that's a 9 year-old, which once again will have a spot in the May 22nd NBA Lottery Draft where the L's worst teams gather up to pick the Nation's top prospects, it's tough for us, Raptor fans, to spend a long, hot summer and mystery is floating around our beloved franchise without knowing what direction we're heading towards the 2004-2005 campaign, and towards a future that appears to get darker and darker after every season. I'm not a strong believer of rebuilding under the current circumestances. With a core group consisted of: Five-Time NBA ALL Star in Vince Carter, a sensation rookie and a former Yellow jacket in Chris Bosh, one of the NBA's best non-All Stars in Jalen, along with Mr. Consistency Donyell Marshall and a healthy Alvin Williams, I really believe getting enough peices to finish the buzzle around these guys will make us a contender in the Weaker-To-be Eastern Conference considering the departure of the mighty New Orleans Hornets to the West, and the addition of an expansion in Charlotte which will need few season to make the necessarily acquisitions and gather the right pieces to be a playoff contender. As fortunate as they are, the door is still wide open for the Raps to make up, with the two most important jobs on any oragnization in the GM and Headcoach are up for grabb, the upper managment represented by Mr. Larry Tenebaum, Richard Peddie and jack Mclawskey, they should take enough time to make a wise decesion in electing a GM with charecter, inetgrity, and a solid plan that will take this franchise and its loyal fans to the promise land, an NBA Raptor game on June at the ACC. As a die-hard Raptor fan, I could take several positive things from this season. The first thing that pops up in my mind is the tremendous performances and the emergence of 20 year-old rookie sensation Chris Bosh, at this young age, he didn't just reached the expectations, he exceeded them Another positive note is Vince Carter's health, an NBA superstar who was hammered with injuries and critisim, and who struggled to play more than 60 games in each of the past two years, showed up for the most part of this season playing 73 games, and he put up numbers which reminded us the era of Vinsanity is not over yet. To sum up, here's a final evaluation of the 2003-2004 Toronto Raptors: Vince Carter: A- * Averaged career low in FG%, and didn't show consistency in driving to the basket, however, his assist Avg. was his highest, and he was without a doubt, the team's Most Valuble Player. Jalen Rose: B+ * Showed great leadership skills, played the point position very well, but he turned the ball over a bit too much and that cost us games at times, Jalen is the team's most consistent driver. Chris Bosh: A+ * I can't say enough about Chris, he was overmatched everygame, and he still contributed offinsevley as well as difinsevley, had a great season, look out for him next season. Alvin Williams: C * Struggled with his shot in the beggining of the season, although he was hurt, he sucked up the pain and competed as hard as he could, he had his share of injuries. Expect a healthy Alvin next year after an off OffSeason. Donyell Marshall: A- * Had his best season as a pro, aside from the two weeks period where he struggled to found his shot, he had a great season as a Raptor. Morris Peterson: C- * Kept his offinsive game around the perimeter, and one of the most inconsistent players in the league. Milt Palacio: D * Very good penetrator, but he can't shoot the ball, and that cost us games when jalen and Alvin where out of the line up. Michael Curry: C * Played good defense at times, but he's challenged offinsevley. Dion Glover: B * Played very well when he KO gae him some minutes, but he was buried on the bench most of the time. Roger mason Jr. : C+ * This kid is worth keeping, he's got the talent, a very good penetrator and has a decent shot, Raps should keep him. Lamond Murray: F * He had the time in the beggining of the season but he didn't show any thing, he struggled with his shot and was horrible definsivley. Jerome Moiso: D * Very athletic and has a good potential, but he didn't produce enough when he came off the bench, he has to take advantage of his athletisicm. Bench: D BackCourt: B- Front Court: C Team Overall: C Thanks, AC.
nice post AC. i think u hit it pretty much right on. ur analysis was very logical and well written. i agree with u generally on pretty much all of them except for michael curry and dion glover. i thought mike curry helped the raps a lot with his leadership and he was a great communicator on defense. he probably should have went up a little bit in ur rankings. as for glover, i thought a B is too high. he doesnt play much for a reason. i honestly dont know what the reason is but i assume it might be that he doesnt know the plays well or he cant communicate on defense or w/e. the bottom line is that he has skills but he needs to earn the coaches playing time. i thought he should have dropped just a bit lower. otherwise, i thought it was gfreat for u to take ur time to make such a detailed analysis. Great job AC!
AC excellent post. I thought Roger Mason was about a B-. He did not get big minutes, but when he did play, he showed skill and potential of a good role player. They should definitely keep him. I totally agree on your analysis of Chris Bosh, one of the only bright spots on the roster along with Vince. It might be too late but i still think Vince can be a top 5 player. He justs needs to be more consistent and he needs to play with no fear like he did in his first 3 seasons.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Fundamentals:</div><div class="quote_post">AC excellent post. I thought Roger Mason was about a B-.</div> mason showed a lot of potential but he picks up WAY too many silly fouls. i dont remeber against who but he fouled out in 9 mins. that is just not acceptable. he also needs to be more calm on offense and be more patient. i think he could become a great player but as of this season, a B- would be too high. i agree with AC's post of C.
I think it was against the Bulls, great summary AC, but I don't even think Michael Curry deserved a C, I know he tried but all he did was hack and get the other teams players to the line.
you spelled puzzle buzzle Not that anybody cares... Nice, very worth reading. Can't really argue with anything there.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting harry_balls5:</div><div class="quote_post">mason showed a lot of potential but he picks up WAY too many silly fouls.</div> yeah, your right ,He will improve, and that's why it's called potential.
Good post AC. Your reasoning seems correct and well thought out. The only thing I would disagree with is Jerome Moiso, a D seems a little harsh considering Kevin O'neill gave him limited playing time, and when he did get playing time I thought he played fairly well, I just think that people may have overrated him coming from New Orleans because of his few bright spots in the playoffs.

I'd give Moiso a Unfinished rating right now because we don't know what he could have done if he was give consitent minutes and KO had confidence in him. I think playing about 20 minutes he could give something like 7 points, 6 rebounds and a block.
Hey good job AC, i would give Jalen Rose more credit than a B+ i would give him a A- for those end of the games big shots he made
Rose deserves a B because although he did play well when he got back from injury, we still can't forget all of those games he cost us because of his stupid turnovers and shot selection. Archibald doesn't really deserve a rating...but since you're asking, i'll say an F mainly because he couldn't shoot any type of shot (hook, lay-up), he did not show a lot of aggressivness, he shot horrible at the stripe (airballed a free throw i remember ), his defense was only ok at times, and he even tried to show off his amazing handles by dribbling the ball through his legs one game, which slipped out and ended up falling into the hands of the other team
