He was considering staying in Europe, but they have completed a buyout. </div> I sorry i couldnt post the link but... IM SO DAMN happy that we're going to have Roko next season... i heard nothing but good about this guy.
Nice! Now our point guard situation is pretty much set in stone with Omar Cook possibly joining as the third PG. Maybe he can play in the Minnesota summer league? I saw what he could do against other European players but I wanna see what this guy can do against NBDLers. Edit: here's the link Link He was apparently bought out for $700,000 and got a 3 year deal. Exactly as I predicted. Second Edit: Another source His contract is $2.5 million for 3 years! Now that's a steal! Raptors will pay $500,000 for the buyout and Ukic will pay the remaining $200,000.
That's great news. And a pretty good contract considering how talented he is. I can't wait to see him play in the preseason.
Ukic apparently said something like "This is my dream come true, because I know Toronto doesn't have any real playmakers and I can step in in my rookie season." Wait until Rafer hears this.. and wait until the training camp starts and Ukic goes 1-on-1 with Rafer.
lol yeah I read that quote, I think Rafer is going to drop a weight on Roko's groin while hes sleeping.

Hold on folks, play has been stopped, as it appears someone has hurled a huge brick aimed for Ukic narrowley missing him.' I think the way that Ukic has to prove himself is on the court and play-making.

And after getting embarrassed with something he's never seen before in Europe, Ukic will dunk over Rafer.
Uhhh...if you guys actually want Ukic and Alston to go after eachother and have a feud like this, then you're sad.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">Uhhh...if you guys actually want Ukic and Alston to go after eachother and have a feud like this, then you're sad.</div> We are just joking around. I mean, Alston would never throw a brick at Ukic (or would he?).
Jeez.. we were just having some fun with Rafer's anger management problem and what not Competition is good for Rafer, because I think the way he played last season had a lot to do with the fact that he was going to play regardless of what he did.
I just cant wait to c this guy play. I heard that he was the fourth best point guard in the draft this yr behind Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Raymond Felton...WOW. The only downside i read about him was that he was too skinny for the NBA game... WELL... he gained something like 30 pds and gained 1inch. A 218pds 6'6" pg is a big point guard... wonder if hes better than Ray now???
He was arguably the 4th best point guard, but there was a big dropoff after the big three. I love his size however, and the fact that he can play some good D is just a bonus. When he puts a little extra weight, Ukic's gonna be dangerous.

Ukic doesn't play the D as well as Chris Paul or Deron Williams, but if he puts on a bit more weight it shouldn't be a problem for him to guard any guards in the NBA with his height, except the extremely quick ones like Earl Boykins / Nate Robinson / Chris Paul. Yes, I said it. <u>Any</u>. There's no way he's 215 lbs unless he put on that much weight after his season with KK-Split, he is closer to 190 lbs at best. People comparing him to Jaric are completely off in their assessment, as Jaric is more of a shooting guard turned into a combo guard with shooting range and decent defense whereas Ukic is a pure point guard with outstanding quickness for a 6'6" guy and an excellent court vision and passing ability. Ukic is a bit streaky when it comes to shooting the long range jumpers though.. but that can be improved upon. You can count on him to average at least 10 ppg and 5 apg this year, but there's no way he'd be able to play the SG. His shooting is too streaky to be depended upon as a SG and his off the ball movement is mediocre.
