BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors try to extend their season-high winning streak to six games on Friday when they visit the Boston Celtics on Friday at FleetCenter.

The Raptors, who are on their longest winning streak since a nine-game tear March 22-April 9, 2002, beat Cleveland on the road on Tuesday, 100-93.

Vince Carter scored 22 points and Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall added 20 apiece for Toronto, which is 5-0 since acquiring Rose and Marshall from Chicago.

The Celtics have won a season-high three straight games, including a 126-112 triumph over Seattle on Wednesday.

Paul Pierce contributed season highs of 36 points and 14 rebounds and Mike James added a career-high 24 points for Boston, which saw a 31-point lead entering the fourth quarter reduced to 10 points in five minutes before Pierce came back into the contest and immediately nailed two jumpers and found James for a three-pointer.

The Raptors beat the Celtics in Toronto on December 3, 105-95, after taking two of their three meetings last season.

After winning five in a row the Raptors can be in either of two places. Either they?re pumped and focused or they?re complacent. K.O. has shown an ability to push the right buttons late in games to pull out a win and so I?m betting that he?ll have the boys in purple ready to go. Boston isn?t playing exceptionally well and so this is a winnable game for Toronto. The key will be in limiting the damage inflicted by Pierce and playing smart ball late in he game. If the Raptors continue to execute offensively the way they have in the last 5 games and if they used the two practice days to gel defensively then this should be win number 6 for Toronto.

I'm pretty sure Jiri Welsch starts at small forward for the Celtics. Bosh better destroy Mark Blount. Rose should post up on Mike James.
