Terrible comparison, not even close. Rashad McCants comparative upside is closer to Steve Francis.

Agree, even Gilbert Arenas would be a better comparison to Voshon Lenard. The only way I can see Voshon Lenard in Rashad is their shooting ability.

Rashad is a generous 6'3, he is not going to be a swing player in the league. He will be a tweener SG in the NBA, and he plays nothing like Richard Jefferson, especially on defense. Gilbert Arenas is an accurate comparison, but Arenas has better playmaking abilities.

I didn't know he was that short! Arenas is a suitable comparison but I'm sure there is some1 better to compare him to.

Yes like I said, Steve Francis. They are the same height and both like to score and have a shoot first mentality.

A comparison I can think of off hand is a poor mans combination of the shooting ability posessed by Bill Sharman and the defensive and clutch abilities of Sam Jones. Modern day there aren't many others like McCants besides the aforementioned poor mans Franchise or Arenas comparisons. Lots of times it's wasteful to compare one player to another: like Maria Sharapova says "I'm not the next anyone, I'm the first Maria Sharapova."

    Shpladow.

I'm not sold on McCants...he's a shooter, and was able to do score succesfully in college, but I dont think he'll fare as well in the NBA...he doesnt play defense and doesnt pass well...comparing him to players such as arenas or francis is quite laughable, IMO...he doesnt have their quickness nor the same explosion...he's quick but not THAT quick...

McCants is far better than Lenard skills wise. He was the best scorer in the NCAA last year and he'll bring some scoring to the Wolves. If Ben Gordon can be sucessful in the NBA (judging by his rookie year, he's going to be very successful) then I can't see why McCants can be either.

Ironically, my NBA comparison of Mccants is Spreewell...I mean, I'm not sure what it is about their games that gives me this impression (shooting, athletic ability, attitude??), I've always thought this when he was at UNC ..

Sprewell is an interesting one, but McCants would be a better shooter. Arenas is also an interesting one, Gilbert isn't as long as McCants, but he's a far superior ball handler and playmaker, and also better at penetrating.

McCants is an interesting player, he's quick and athletic, and has the shooting, but his handles and playmaking abilities are weak. I like the Sprewell one, kinda like when Sprewell was a small SF, McCants is a small SG, but McCants won't be much of a defender early on, and later on, well we'll see...
