Lewis just said that he will most likely opt out in two years and try a new team. Why not the raptors? We will have a lot of money by 07 and should be able to sign him opinions?
its possible but my only question is what position is he going to play i doubt that charlie will stay on the bench two years from now and the most logical position for him to play would be the 3 cause the raps dont think he can body up some of the bigger 5s dont expect bosh to move to the 5 either or he'll be leaving the first chance he gets. so really there would be no clear position for him.hes not quick enough to play at the 2. the raps best bet is to get a quality centre or a allstar point. they're basically set at every other position in the future.
Charlie = Extremely similar to Rashard Lewis. Has a better post game, and is a better passer, but not as atheltic, and not as good a shooter, I don't know why we would be paying big money to duplicate a player we already have. Also we're getting a lottery pick this year, a lot of people are thinking Rudy who is a SF.

If he wants money and the Raptors offer a lot, then he will most likely come. If he wants to go to a contending team (no offense) he won't sign with the Raptors. It all depends on what he wants from a team.

Shard is most likely going to go to a contender.. unless somehow Toronto turns it around cuz Shard will be around what? 27 28.. still young but would probably want to try to win it all..
shard is a small forward, and charlie isnt. i dont think charlie has the latteral quicks to defend any or at least most sf's in the league. CV will likely be a 6th man for us...never a starter on a regular basis
Have you seen Rashard Lewis defend? Have you seen Peja Stojakovic defend? While Charlie is best at the 4, we already have some other guy there, he has a big SF's game offensively, can put the ball on the floor and create better than both those guys. Peja is a horrible defender, and Rashard is average at best. If we got Rashard, we would just be duplicating, he has hardly any more effect defensively than Charlie would at the 3, though he is better and a lot more athletic, just not by a margin that makes a difference, and he's not as versatile offensively. He's also quite weak on the glass for an athletic 6'10 guy. I do agree that CV will likely be a 6th man for us, that's considering we get a starting caliber SF. Right now I'd start him over Joey at the 3, all Joey does right now is pick up offensive and defensive fouls.
I agree, but if we continue doing this bad, Gay could come to the team, and that closes the 3 spot. So yes, Charlie is too talented to be stuck as a 6th man on the Raps.
but if we draft rudy gay what would happen to "big smooth''? if we play rudy gay at the 2 what would happen to graham? can rudy gay even play the 2 well?
yea man...thats a great point, i never thought about that. there are quite a few 3's in the league who cant guard to save their lives...not sure that means we should join that club though lol. but i still see what you're saying...its true, we COULD start him at the 3. if hoffa keeps playing the way he has been...thats not a half bad front court either
