<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Darko Milicic is in for the education of his life. If he thought experiencing an NBA championship run as a rookie was something, wait until his two new mentors get through with him.

Milicic will be the beneficiary of the combined wisdom of two former all-star power forwards ? Rasheed Wallace and Derrick Coleman.

?Rasheed told me that he?s got Darko this year,? Pistons Coach Larry Brown said Monday. ?He told me that he helped Jermaine (O?Neal) and Zach (Randolph) when he was in Portland and now he?s going to help Darko the same way.?

Coleman, too, plans to get involved.

?Darko is going to be a heck of a player,? Coleman said. ?He has a lot of potential. He?s fundamentally sound and he?s left-handed. I tell him all the time, ?You already got the advantage right there and you don?t even know it.? ?

Coleman, as you probably figured, is also left-handed.

?DC is as bright a player as I?ve ever coached,? Brown said. ?He will be great for Darko. Just playing every day against Ben, Rasheed, Elden and Derrick is really a plus of Darko.?

Here is something on olympic gold medalist Carlos Delfino

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pistons rookie Carlos Delfino is a bright man. He doesn?t plan to bring the gold medal he won with his Argentina Olympic team around the Pistons? practice facility any time soon.

Brown, who coached the bronze-medal U.S. team, knows it could be a lot worse. He could be in San Antonio Coach Gregg Popovich?s shoes. He was Brown?s Olympic assistant and coaches Tim Duncan (U.S.) and Manu Ginobili (Argentina).

?Pop called me,? Brown said. ?Ginobili is an outspoken kid. Tim has to deal with that and Pop has to deal with that. I told Pop, I doubt Delfino feels as comfortable around me.?

It is clear that Delfino, like all rookies, will have to win Brown?s trust.

?He will help, but I don?t know how quickly,? Brown said. ?He had some really good moments at the Olympics. The nice thing is, he?s only 22 and he gets to play against Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince every day in practice.?
