I still like Sheed. He had a solid career, won a title, was an all star, made a ton of money. And his detractors keep forgetting he's a strong family man. Retire while still young enough to watch the family grow. Maybe now he can become an architect, as his mother hoped. He's a talented artist who interned with an architectural firm in high school. But he grew to 6'11" so had another fate.
I know with certainty that he has not always been a faithful husband. But aside from that, I agree with you. I wish he had a drive for greatness because I think he had the tools to be a top 3 player in the league for years, but any way you look at it, he was a talent.
I wouldn't be surprised; his wife loves it here. He was one of the few Blazers that lived here year 'round back in the Jail Blazer days. Make no mistake, for all his public blustering, Sheed is a p-whipped family man.
I just think he loves his wife and children. Apparently, if a man does not beat his wife he's a wimp?
