I was listening to the The Opening Drive on Sirius today and they were rating quarterbacks. They gave a simple formula to rating them. I thought this would be the perfect place to see how each quarterback rates out.Now you have to be honest also and not homers for our own team. Here it is:Coming into the 2007 NFL Seasoning, rate the following quarterbacks in the NFC East using this formula. 1 through 5, with 5 being the best. Remember quarterbacks coming into the season. Not what you think but coming into the new football year.Answer each question with the rating and quarterback and at the end add up all your totals and what you rated the NFC East Quarterbacks. Have fun because you know there will be a lot of debating going on!1. The most accurate quarter (rate 1 - 5)2. The most powerful (meaning to throwing the deep ball) (rate 1 - 5)3. The most mobile (rate 1 - 5)4. The best 2 minute quarterback at the end of a game (rate 1 - 5)5. Who make the best descision in the pocket (rate 1 -5)

I tried to go by stats from the previous years but I don't see that much difference in quarterbacks in the NFC. I just thought it was a great topic that was on Sirius NFL Network that they were talking about.

He only has the strongest arm in that group and led his team on something like 4 4th Quarter Comebacks. But dead last there? [IMG]

He didn't prove anything last year, except that he can throw 17 INT's and 24 TD's. I never watched him throw the ball, and besides I just copy and pasted SGG's and fixed what I thought was correct. Besides, Eli still can't be said to be a "good" QB. He has proven nothing yet. That's why he is dead last.

He's proven nothing? He just led the Giants to a division championship and led them in multiple come from behind wins. This is all coming in his first full season as a starter..

You want to know why he led them there? A man named Tiki Barber.

What has Eli proven...How about.11-5 record3750+ yds24 TDVery Good 2 Minute QB- He led his team back 14 points to defeat Denver on the road in the 4th Quarter- He led his team down the field 3 TIMES against Seattle only to have his kicker miss each time.- He led his team downfield against Philadelphia in Overtime for a win.- Scored Double-Digit points in the 4th quarter to put away a game 5 TIMES- Won 9 of the Giants 11 Games by 7 points or moreHas an absolute CANNON for an arm. In terms of arm strength its up there with the best in the league.

When you take that many more snaps you are bound to throw more Interceptions. Now Granted, Projecting them out to the workload that Eli had, Brunell and McNabb still would have been less, but it would have been alot closer. Second of all, if you want to talk about turnovers then how about the fumbles lost. Drew Bledsoe - 8 Fumbles LostMark Brunell - 6 Fumbles LostDonovan McNabb - 3 Fumbles LostEli Manning - 2 Fumbles LostSo even though Eli Manning had a much heavier workload then the rest of the NFC East, he fumbled the ball less then any of them. Total Turnovers from the QB (INT + Fumbles Lost)Drew Bledsoe - 25.0 (17 INT, 8 FL) (58 Less Attempts then Manning)Eli Manning - 19.0 (17 INT, 2 FL)Mark Brunell - 16.0 (10 INT, 6 FL) (103 Less Attempts then Manning)Donovan McNabb - 12.0 (9 INT, 3 FL) (200 Less Attempts then Manning)So despite throwing 103 more passes, Eli Manning only had 3 more turnovers then Mark Brunell and Donovan McNabb had 7 less turnovers over 200 passes. If you wanted to project those numbers out to the workload that Eli Manning had, those numbers would be almost identical. So who exactly is unacceptable?

And my last question is, what happened in the most important game of the season last year? Carolina?91 passing yards and had 4 turnovers? Correct?

That is correct, but look out how many starting linebackers were on our defense during that game that were starting for us Week 1.The game is all about momentum. Then, look out how many turnovers Eli had when the game was 21 - 0. We could not stop the run. Momentum is a huge part of the game.

Cowboys offensive line is last IMO. Under 50% completion percentage, 2 interceptions, 5 sacks, 1 Fumble to the St. Louis Rams Defense (Which we all know blows) Or was it the 12/18 game against Washington that would have allowed Dallas to control its fate and Bledsoe threw 3 INT's, was sacked 7 times, and Fumbled the ball as Dallas went on to lose by 28 points.Correct me if im wrong, but what happened to Mark Brunell during the playoffs? 20 points of offense over 2 Games (A 51 yard Fumble Return doesnt count as offense). 55.7% completion percentage, 1 INT, 1 Fumble...way to lead your team buddy. I guess having Moss, Cooley, and Portis wasnt enough to have at least a respectable offense, instead they had 3 times the weapons of the Bears and less offense during the playoffs.Correct me if im wrong, but what happened to Donovan McNabb during the Super Bowl? 3 Interceptions, including the one that sealed the loss for Philadelphia, almost vomited in the 4th quarter and terrible 2 minute offense work that costed his team the game.I could make a case that ANY of those 3 choked also.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Sheriff Gonna Getcha @ Jun 30 2006, 09:24 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>venom look at their rating...</div>What rating? You were giving him excuse about him throwing more pass than Bledsoe, blah, blah, blah. But after reading what you just posted up here assures me that he's no better than any quarterback in the East. And I was asking who had the best line last year? And if I'm correct it could have very well been the Giants. And if that's the cast than you should not have all the excuses for Eli. Where I can make a great case for Bledsoe and McNabb (not to mention his injuries). No I'm not making excuses for Bledsoe but you said it yourself that we have the worst line in the NFC East. And I figure since you're making excuse for Eli, well I can do the same for Bledsoe or any other quarterback in the East. And of your "correct me if I'm wrong" stuff should be aimed back at you. So correct me if I'm wrong, if these quarterbacks had those bad games like you indicated and Eli had the same bad game, doesn't that make him no better than any quarterback in the East? Eli at best is the 4 best in the East. Now, he could very well by the end of next year being better than everyone. Heck, Jason Campbell can come off the bench and be better than Eli. And the more I think about it (and no, I'm not at all trying to upset you but) Jason Campbell had a way better college career than Eli. He faced better and tougher teams than Eli could imagine and he WON! So that tells me that he's a better quarterback coming in. So, at best he's probably the 5 best in the NFC East....So to make you so upset...didn't mean too!

Eli Manning > Mark BrunellEli Manning > Drew BledsoePeriod.I dont see how you can compare one QB who was chased out of Buffalo and New England and only got another job because he kissed Bill Parcells's ass in the past and another QB who was chased out of Jacksonville and only got a job because he was the most expensive QB for the Spendskins to waste their money on TO a former #1 overall pick and future, if not current, Top 10 QB.
