The Arizona Rattlers opened road play with an offensive outburst and a defensive strong-hold on the Tulsa Talons, winning 69-20 at the BOK Center on Monday (March 28) night. The 49-point win proved to be the largest margin of victory in team history. The Rattlers came out firing against the Talons, scoring 42 unanswered points in the first half. Former Talon, FB ODIE ARMSTRONG made his return to Tulsa with a three-yard TD scamper at the 10:28 mark of the first quarter to open the scoring frenzy. WR NATE FORSE quickly followed up on the board with a three-yard TD catch with 2:43 remaining in the first quarter to set the score at 13-0. In back-to-back possessions, Tulsa's QB Bobby Reid threw interceptions to the Rattlers' fourth ranked scoring defense. LB KEVIN McCULLOUGH intercepted a Reid pass and returned it 10-yards to close the first quarter and put the Rattlers up 19-0. DB MARQUIS FLOYD followed suit at the start of the second quarter by making an acrobatic interception on the sideline. WR TRANDON HARVEY snared two TD grabs in the first half; his season long of 38 yards came at the 12:23 mark to widen the scoring gap at 26-0. Harvey finished the night with 11 receptions for 150 yards and four TDs. The Rattler defense produced the second safety of the season, when DL TYRE GLASPER took down Reid on a possession that started at the Tulsa one-yard-line, putting the Rattlers up 28-0 with 10:27 remaining in the first half. The safety set up WR ROD WINDSOR for his 50th career touchdown catch on a five-yard scoring grab to set the score at 35-0 with 8:04 remaining in the half. Harvey closed the opening half scoring rampage with a 15-yard TD catch to head into the locker room with a 42-0 command. QB NICK DAVILA led the Rattler passing attack in the first half, going 15-of-22 for 158 yards and four TDs. In the second half, the Rattler defense surrendered its first touchdown of the game at the 8:45 mark of the third quarter when Talon WR TJ Williams grabbed a six-yard TD to make the score 42-6. QB TREVOR HARRIS started the second half, hitting Harvey with two consecutive scores of 32 and 12 yards, respectively, to put the Rattlers up 62-14 with 9:59 left in the fourth quarter. DL MARCUS PITTMAN picked off Reid on the Tulsa three-yard-line to set up an Armstrong one-yard rush for a TD with 7:22 remaining in the contest. WR JASON GEATHERS capped the final score with a 15-yard TD with under a minute left in the game. Harris finished the game going 8-for-13 for 104 yards and three TDs.
