Jumal Rolle, one of the cornerbacks the Ravens brought back with designs on having depth at the position, tore his Achilles tendon recently while participating in a workout. He’ll miss the 2016 season.

Rolle, 25, was added to the Ravens’ practice squad last November after he was released by the Houston Texans. He was elevated to the 53-man roster on Dec. 15 and was active for one of the Ravens’ final three games. Rolle, an undrafted free agent out of Catawba College, had one tackle in the Ravens’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 15.

Over three NFL seasons, Rolle has played in 19 games and has 18 tackles, three interceptions and four passes defended. All three of those interceptions came for the Texans during the 2014 season. Rolle has also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.
