Ravens Getting In On The Pat White Action, Too

With the Cleveland Browns checking out West Virginia quarterback Pat White on Wednesday, the team that used to be the Cleveland Browns is the next team to get acquainted with White.

According to a league source, White will arrive in Baltimore on Thursday night for a visit.

But if White plans to play quarterback exclusively at the NFL level, the Ravens are hardly the best option. With the team’s chronic quarterback problems finally solved via the addition last year of Joe Flacco, the Ravens would want White to be a jack-of-all-trades.

And that’s the biggest problem White now faces. Some teams regard White as a quarterback, others see him as a difference-maker who’ll take some snaps and grab some handoffs and catch some passes and return some punts.

His entire NFL career largely will be shaped by the preferences of the team that is the first to write his name on a card and take it to the podium at Radio City Music Hall.
