<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NUGGETS INTEREST ALLEN: The Nuggets figure to go on a shooting- guard hunt in the summer. Seattle's Ray Allen, scheduled to become a free agent, said he is a candidate. "Anything is possible," he said before Tuesday's game. "You figure a team that is willing to get better and wants to win the championship, I'm on board for that. . . . I know the teams that have the need for what I can bring to a team." Allen said any move to Denver "definitely would have to be a sign- and-trade." The Nuggets have a chance to carve out around $6 million in salary-cap room, but that wouldn't meet his asking price. Though Allen's name has surfaced in trade rumors, his $14.6 million salary this season would make it unlikely he would land in Denver.</div> <font size="1">Full Story courtesy of Aaron J Lopez and the Rocky Mountain News.</font> Lovely, nothing like putting a dampener on our good start by telling the media he'd love to go to Denver. Obviously, as stated, it seems unlikely due to the salary cap, but Denver would be a great team to trade with player-wise. Nene, whilst injured, seems to be the odd man out with Camby and K-Mart, and I'd love him in Seattle. Take Voshon Lenard too to back-up Flip, and a first rounder (do they have any of them left?!), and everybody's laughing. Andre Miller is another option, I remember him being linked briefly with the Supes in free agency due to his close friendship with Rashard.
I would rather watch Ridnour develop than hunt after Dre. If we let guys like Flip and Luke be the future of the team we will save money. I see the Sonics being the western equivalent of the Pistons--a blue collar team.
Ray really needs to learn the phrase, "No Comment." What a way to separate himself from the team while they are on a roll, unbelievable. As for a possible Denver deal, I'm not sure if I like any of the possibilities unless we are getting K-Mart.
Obviously I was mistaken when I said that Ray wasn't talking to the media. I remember earlier this year I had made a proposal that involved Ray Allen to the Nuggets, but that was just me trying to make a scenario that made the off season go quicker. I don't really care if Ray stays or go (I'd prefer him to go) but as long as he's helping the Sonics win games I'm not going to rip him for talking to the media. If the Sonics go on one of their patented losing streaks after a fast start then you will see my hatred of Ray come to fruition.
Ray Allen is basically doing what all players do what the media asks them If they would consider signing for a certain team, he's not exactly going to talk bad about that franchise Is he? I don't see the big deal In what was said. No where does he say he would like to sign for the Nuggets, like all players he said "anything is possible"
Ray Allen and Carmelo Anthony sharing shots, I would like to see that. I like Carmelo Anthony but so far, his whole style reminds me of Glenn Robinson. I hope he isnt headed down that Glenn Robinson track. But no defense, poor shot selection, always complaining, for some reason. Melo was a much more complete looking player at 'Cuse. But then again at 'Cuse they play some of the best zone in basketball, so it covered him up on Defense. But he was a much smarter offensive. He doesnt combine scoring and playmaking like he did. I just keep seeing the new Big Dog Robinson. Anyway I dont think Ray Allen & Melo would work that well together both need 20 shots a game. And mostly jumpshots for both..sounds like the making for trouble times in Denver. Ray Allen isnt the type of player that would be open to taking a 2nd option role. And right now, Denver is still Melo's team.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but to me that sounds like he's assuming he won't be at the ballclub next season and is publicly looking at his future elsewhere while he's still in a Sonics uniform. Fine, but not to the media while the Sonics are playing good ball.

Ray Allen will be the number 1 free-agent next summer so he should be the main candidate for most teams with cap room. I also don't see Ray staying with Seattle next season so unless the Sonics sign him to an extension or move him, I think It's unlikely he will be returning. I think Ray is tired of being on a team that isn't a contender and hasn't been in the playoffs for a while. That could change this season you never know as the Sonics are looking really good so far and might make a run at the 8th seed. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him land in Cleveland next season, team him up with Lebron, Z, Gooden and you have one hell of a team.
I don't think, in all honesty, any Seattle fan truly expects him to be a Sonic next season, that's almost common knowledge. My point is there's no need for him to suggest that to the media himself, especially when the team is on a roll at the moment. It doesn't just affect him, it affects his teammates too when they hear stuff like that being said publicly. It's like "Does this guy actually want to play with us" and "Is he just trying to force a trade here?"
