Who's better right now in their careers? Allen is in his prime and will be on the decrease soon. Redd is just reaching his prime. Both put up terrific numbers, and both have great permeter shots, but both are not fantastic on defense. I think right now, I'll choose Redd, but Ray is right behind.

Ray Allen is a great shooter while Michael Redd is a great shooter but at the same time is a pretty good driver too something which Ray Allen isn't as good at. Right now I guess I would have to take Ray Allen just because of his experience and how he can score at will any given night. But in about 2 to 3 season Redd would be the easy pick.

I would take Ray but that obiously because Im a Sonicsfan. Redd is a few years behind Ray but he could be just as good. Playoff performances Ray is leading here I think. Remember that year the bucks played the sixers (2001 I think) - Ray played awesomely.Had big games. He has a higher per game average in gm 7's too - shows that he's a biug game player! I like ray but its a tough call for even me to make.

I like both.. but put redd on the sonics.. and they would be worst. Redd lately has been driving and going to the lane. Notice how his freethrow attempts increase through the years. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3442I Dont think he wants people calling him soft, which im sure people think. Redds defense will probably step up. Ray allen is much better defensively than redd is now and faster still. Ray allen passes and goes for the boards better than redd.Ray and Redd 3pt shots are crazy (nice).Redd Scores in many ways nowadays, but thats just pretty much it right now. You can rely on Ray Allen to do other things. At rays age I think he is trying to prevent injury. Because when you get older u will feel that sh*t. so its best to calm down a bit on your slashing moves. He still looks athletic as always at his age and does not seem to be becoming a fragile Shooter anytime soon. Example Danny ferry. He is no micheal finley also, which could be a very good scorer now stilFor the next two years I will stick with ray but after that I would pick up Redd. A long-term potential Team: I would pick redd (example bobcats/celtics/hawks).A short-term potential Team:Ray (sonics/Cavs)A kick ass now Team:RayI'd pick ray. However I have many doubts in this choice because there are so many points that can be brought up to explain which one would be better. Ray is my #1 and Redd is #2 as a fan so whatever Ray wins.

I would easily take Michael Redd. He's put a ton of work into his game whereas Ray Allen has just settled for being a jumpshooter and being soft and not taking it to the rim. Redd has turned from an average shooter in college to an elite shooter, when he became an elite shooter he proved everyone wrong and now scores most of his points going to the basket and working around the rim. Ray Allen's game has been flat for 5 years now. I love Ray Allen, one of my favorite guys of all-time...but it's clear that Redd is the better all-around scorer and one of the top 10 in all of basketball. Not many players in history have grown as much as Redd has from what he was in college. Ray still shoots way too much from the perimeter while when Redd's shot isn't going down just darts to the basket. Both are below average defenders but Redd's been playing better defense this season....despite what S-Guard says Allen's been a soft defender his whole career. Rebounding wise they are pretty even looking at the statistics...between 4-5 a game for both. I don't see what your saying S-Guard, the Sonics switch for Redd and they get worse? How is that? Michael Redd is a more efficient scorer and defensively ones not much better than the other. I could see your point if Ray Allen was a career 'winner' and 'take over the game' type player, but he isn't.

Ray allen is decreasing in his all-around game as he is aging. At his age an injury could destroy his career rapidly, and when a an older player gets a serious injury theres a great chance for retirement being thrown into their heads. He is not as youthful as before but still appears to consistently make his offense dangerous towards the defense causing double teams. It is rare to have an over 30 year old player CONSISTENTLY score as good as he is now. Not like micheal finley dropped to a role bench player or eddie jones every who once in awhile hits the 20 point mark now. THese 2 players were very good scorers a few years back. Redd is growing right now but is a dangerous offensive player and acknowledge his improvement in overall offensive skills but if I want to win now or next year I will stick with Ray Allen. I would really want redd on a suns like offense over ray due to the fact that his offensive moves are improving while rays is decreasing. (NOT saying that his Scoring is decreasing, just his shot selection and moves.) Ray would be better on a team like the spurs but still good with the suns. But if he were on the suns he would resort to a role 3 point shooter due to the fact the rest of the starters are very good slashers. Ray would have no need to slash. But he would be a dangerous 3pt role player. It's a waste of his skills if he does this.im in class right now gotta concentrate 1

Ray is better then redd that's the point, but redd is right there. Ray can do more overall and his ability to get his team to win in crunch time adds to it.

I'd take Redd at this poitn in their careers, thats an obvious choice. Allen is aging, and Redd is entering/just into his prime years. He's got one of the smoothest shots in the NBA, and is one of the best catch and shoot guys too. Redd by far.

Redd can do anything Ray can and plus he takes it to the basket hard and gets the fouls, thats something Ray doesn't do. I just don't get where your coming from.Ray can do more with his ability to get his team to win in crunch time? What the hell does that mean? Michael Redd hits tons of big shots and comes up big in the 4th...your just coming across as biased.
