<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LOS ANGELES ? When asked if he was happy in Seattle, Ray Allen didn't hesitate in giving an affirmative reply. He wants to make a permanent home in the Northwest, so much that he's considering lowering his contract demands once he renews negotiations with the Sonics on a contract extension in July.

It's possible he could accept a below-market deal if he felt the team was making the appropriate personnel decisions to become a legitimate playoff contender.

Still, Allen admitted that the Sonics would do a better job in recruiting free agents if the team changed some of the ways it conducts business.

"There are a lot of organizations that do more for their players, just in terms of locker-room amenities," he said. "Our locker room could be better in both places (the practice facility and KeyArena). This is just based on what we've seen around the league." </div>

Interesting article this. Ray was on Seattle radio last night saying that he wouldn't take a shortened deal (length wise, not money wise) and that if management leave it until the expiry of his current contract, he is out of here.

He wants to stay and he has shown all the right signs to be a franchise player. It's time for management to put their money where their mouth is on this one.
