They stretch the rules and bruise his body. They pound him because the scouting reports say it works.
Full Story courtesy of the Seattle Times. Wear and tear is obviously taking it's toll on Ray, and Nate's practices won't be helping. I'm not one for giving special treatment to the star player, but this team needs Ray on that court, even if it means resting him up a bit.
I totally agree, everyone knows what Ray brings to the team and the Sonics need him now especially with the absence of Brent Barry for some leadership. Ray never asked to carry the team but he was put in that situation and the team needs to recognize this and give Ray what is due.
I really like Ray Allen, true offensive talent as well a great person and sense of character. The way he plays and carries his team speaks out, leader. He's never really had much defense but what he does for them more then makes up for it. He is one of the reasons that keep the team from going mediocre. As far as wear and tear, it's not surprising, he's always out there giving 110%.
This happens to every star player in the NBA. Every defender wants to take their liberties with them and try to get away with murder. I don't think this is a good idea for people to put out on the newspapers because I think this gives teams more incentive to beat up on him.
Yeah this happens to every star player in the NBA. But if he's hurting rest him no use making the injury(s) worser.
We gotta rest Ray Allen a little. He is not playing nearly as well as he should be these days, and that's because he has been expected of carrying the team on his bare shoulders and hasn't really disappoint yet. We'll need him to be 100% healthy on the court if we want to constantly win games.
