Chandler arrived at Homer Junior High at 12:30 p.m. to meet grand prize winner Serknas who was awestruck at the sight of Chandler. ?You?re tall,? Serknas said at the two?s first meeting. "Yeah, I?m 7-1," Chandler replied with a grin. Chandler began the day by attending Serknas? afternoon art class where Homer Junior High teacher Judy Brunzelle planned the day?s lesson on the principals of photography to incorporate the Bulls center. Additionally, Chandler shared with the students what a typical day was like for him and stressed the importance of receiving a good education. ?Basketball careers can end instantly, but an education will last forever,? Chandler said. ?It?s so important that while going after your dreams you remember how important education is to get there.? Following art class, Chandler joined Serknas and more than 160 enthusiastic seventh-graders for study hall where he signed autographs, raffled Bulls prizes and answered a variety of questions from the students ranging from his shoe size to his personal heroes growing up. As an added surprise, Chandler also gave away Bulls tickets to a home game next season. Fortunate winners received two tickets each to a Bulls game where they will attend as Chandler?s personal guest. Additionally, each student will be able to sit courtside and watch the Bulls pre-game warm-ups as well as get their picture taken with Chandler on the court.</div> Source
