Jameer Nelson is asserting himself as leader of this team and that is hardly a bad thing. I'm excited for this coming year. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/loca...ports-headlines
Thats pretty awesome of someone so young to go out and put something like that together. That really shows us how mature and poised Jameer really is. Not only does he have that vision on the court but he shows that he has it off the court as well. I cant wait for the season to start... This team should be something else this season, three of our main players excelled against the best players in the world and hopefully that will translate to wins this season.
wow. i've never followed the magic until this season (due to jj being here) and i didnt know much about jameer. he just showed me how mature he is. thats what i would like to see more of in the league. great story.
nelson is best suited for this team and i have never been so happy with a draft pick. i commend the organization for finding a guy like this. at first i didn't really care for jameer, but my buddy whos a saint joes fan told me that he was the next best thing to livingston. but i dont see any other pgs in the league that are better for this team than jameer.
I've been very happy with the way Jameer Nelson has stepped into a leadership role. From the start of his career he has always wanted to be an impact player with this team. I remember last season he was challenging the other players to take his starting job and he was saying he wasn't giving it up without a fight. He wants to be great and wants to make this team great and he is the perfect point guard for this team. In several years, him and Dwight will be on top of this league because they have the talent and desire to improve.
I'd rather have Jameer than Livingston. I never liked Shaun, admittedly, but the only thing at all he's got on Jameer is height, Jameer is as good or better at finding his man and passing, infinitely better at shooting, has one of the lowest to the ground amazing bal hangling skills I've ever seen, and these skills together with his strength (pound for pound might be the strongest guard in the league) allow him to get to the hoop either to dish it out or lay it in practically at will. Couple this with his spectacular defense (considering his height) and his clear intangibles and leadership quality and you seriously can't name too many better PG's in the league, which is Amazing for a guy taken at 20. Jameer and Dwight are great friends too! This team is going to be a remarkable one if they can continue to gel under the leadership of of the best young 1-2 bigman-guard punch in the league.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting asdf:</div><div class="quote_post">I wet my pants after reading the article and finding out how awesome of a leader Jameer Nelson is.</div> Yeah, me too except there was some doo-doo involved. I don't think that was from reading the article though, if ya know what I'm sayin, right? You know what I'm talkin about. Anyways, that's really great and mature of Jameer to do that, even though Dwight, Darko, and Arroyo didn't get to participate, it's still awesome of him to do. It makes his future look even more promising.
How do you guys rank Jameer with the other young point guards in the league? If I had to choose, my list would look something like this. Chris Paul Kirk Hinrich Jameer Nelson Raymond Felton Shaun Livingston Delonte West Deron Williams
Chris Paul Jameer Nelson Raymond Felton Deron Williams Shaun Livingston Delonte West I left Hinrich out because then you'd have to count Ford, Ridnour, etc.

I'm glad someone has stepped up and is trying to anchor the Magic. Grant Hill was supposed to do that, but is kinda always on injured reserve.
