Do you realize the Warriors have out rebounded their opponents in the last 3 straight and 4 of their last 5 games? When is the last time that happened? I'm usually amazed when they do it for a single game. Pietrus is rebounding like a madman.
I saw they bad been scoring a crazy amount lately, but hadn't really looked at the box scores at all. Since he got put into the starting line up for the past three games, Pietrus is putting up 12.6 ppg and 9.3 rpg. Not too bad at all.
The Warriors have to play big if they want to make the playoffs. That means in addition to hops and quickness, they need to throw in some hustle and some good timing (court awareness). Pietrus has been playing smarter these days and the energy level has increased. I'm glad he's no longer pouting and being as tentative. I can believe we outrebounded the Raptors without Chris Bosh, though. Talk about the smallest set of 6'10 and over bigs. Andrea Bargnani and Rasho make Al Harrington look like a good rebounder because at least Al plays inside enough to get his own misses. Talk about ignoring the clear #1 overall draft choice in Lamarcus Aldridge. And stupid Chicago trades that pick to Portland... way to overload the West even further with potential 20/10 candidates. That Bargnani drafting got my mock draft totally screwed up because I thought the Raptors were kidding people about drafting Bargnani. I was like why? The only highlight of his games in Europe was his outside shooting. He wasn't much of a rebounder, he's not a post player, and he's not strong enough to go to the hoop and finish at the rim. Hell, you can get Brian Cook or Nikoloz Tskitishvilli to do that outside shooting junk. I swear GMs should never draft these types #1 overall unless they give good indication that they can hit the glass or play defense. I don't see it Bargnani, especially in his stats. Pathetic rebounding totals. Well great game by Baron. Love his turnover to assist ratio and his overall efficiency.
