What you all got on tap? I pre-ordered 3 games today. MLB 2010: The Show - released March 2 Red Dead Redemption - April 27 Madden 11 - August 10 For pre ordering Red Dead and Madden, Amazon.com is giving me back a total of $30 in gift cards for their site as a promotional deal to pre order. The first two are almost two months apart, so that is nice gives me time to pay one off and save for the next and then August is so far away, I won't have any trouble paying that off.
I have Bioshock 2 coming up on Tuesday. I'm stoked for that. The only other game I have on preorder is Splinter Cell: Conviction, which comes out in April. However, with the history of that game, I wouldn't be shocked if it got pushed back again. It's already been delayed 3 times in the last year, why not a 4th? As for the near future, I'll definitely be putting Fallout: New Vegas on preorder when I'm able to. I looooovvveeedddd Fallout 3 (best game of this gen IMO), so I'm super freaking excited to have a new Fallout game coming this year. I'm also incredibly interested in the new Transformers game based on the teaser trailer I've seen. Red Dead Redemption is also another game that could get added to this list, same with Dead Space 2 and Dead Rising 2. I'm sure there are others that I'm missing too. And recently, I got Mass Effect 2. I love it, and should be beating it sometime in the next few days. Absolutely phenomenal and really the first must-buy of the year to me.
Bioshock 2 Dante's Inferno Both coming out on Tuesday. Dante's Inferno for PS3 has alot of PS3-exclusive content if you preorder. Bioshock 2 collector's edition is gonna be fucking sick. I cannot wait. After this I need to preorder Fallout: New Vegas, God of War 3. I'm torn on Super Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, I'm hoping they just release the new shit as DLCs seeing as how I have the original games already.
I really wouldn't put money in Dante's. The demo was pretty underwhelming and it's gotten mediocre reviews. If you must buy a pure action game and get one now, go for Bayonetta.
I'm actually getting Dante for the story and all. I tend to do that for my games Even the ones with bad graphics....
I thought Dante's would be solid. I played the demo and thought it was nice. Since it's getting pretty crappy reviews, I'm going to pass. I already made the mistake of buying MAG, which I'm planning to sell today. I ordered the God of War collection. I never got a chance to play GOW 2, and I don't mind replaying the first one, as well. I'm also going to see how Aliens vs Predator and Heavy Rain do as far as reviews. I might purchase one or both assuming they do well.
The AVP multiplayer demo is out (at least on XBL), so you might want to check that out if you get the chance. Was MAG really that bad? And the other game that's on my list to buy, that this just reminded me of, is Alan Wake. God, I can't wait for that game.
If you're going to get a game for story, get Bioshock 2. Everything I've read is saying it's got a phenomenal story behind it. Dante is just getting too many mediocre reviews to bar purchasing. If I want a hack and slash game, I'm going to get one that's at least getting good reviews and get Bayonetta. With a game that's just a pure action game like those are, I'm worried far less about the story and more about the combat system and making sure I'm getting a game where the action is going to stay fresh the entire game. Both of those, from everything I've read, are lacking in Dante. It sounds like it's got a very shallow combat system and tired action the further in to it you get. If you want it, it's your money, obviously. But after playing the demo and reading reviews, I've lost any interest in actually purchasing it. It's a rental all the way for me.
You say Bioshock 2, like I didn't beat the first one and read the wiki for it =.= There is a reason why I ordered the Collector's Edition for Bioshock 2. Also, for Dante's, I always am a sucker for mythology or stuff like that. My dad is a D&D guy back from college and we all still play Warhammer, so that kind of mythical stuff has been with me all my life. I also don't care much for reviews lol Alot of games that I own and enjoy got some poor reviews. Wolfenstein being one of them (granted I got it on Amazon for $18).
You just have to persevere, it took me a while to get connected to one, lol. I will say, I wasn't all that impressed. Granted it's just a demo, so we'll see what the final product is like. I don't see myself buying it though.
I am thinking of making a purchase this Friday seeing how I have some time off but I can't decide on the combination I want. I am thinking of getting 2 of the following since they're cheap now: Bioshock, Infamous, Fallout 3, Resistance 2, or Killzone 2. Anyone have suggestions? Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 I am on the fence about to be honest, the multiplayer community for Killzone has to be dwindling and I tried and was never hooked on resistance 1 but #2 looks decent.
...If only they had a guy as the main character then I would definitely buy it. I'm sick of running around as a girl. Anyways, I'm thinking of getting Borderlands, anyone care to help convince me?
Fallout 3 is a must, in my opinion. I personally think it's the best game released on this current generation of consoles. The story is phenomenal, the action is great, and the RPG elements are fantastic as well. It's also a huge game that you'll get nearly 40 hours out of without doing sidequests or playing any of the 5 DLC episodes. Bioshock is also great. Good story, fun combat, and another lengthy game as well.
I will. The action is fast and frantic. The RPG elements are also pretty good, giving you numerous skill trees to branch. There's already two separate DLCs available for it, with Zombie Island being a definite recommendation to download. Beyond that, a new DLC is on its way that will raise the level cap. Sure, the story is incredibly weak (you might forget that there is a story at certain points), but the game is so fun all the way through that you won't care. Did I mention that there's some 5 million guns in the game and numerous other items to help your character? Plus, the co-op is easily one of the best co-op experiences out there. I'd definitely recommend it.
