http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2011/11/oregon_recruiting_update_wr_dw.html Only one I haven't heard much talk about is the Seymour kid from Pasadena. That'd be nice to pluck him right out of Kiffin's backyard.
How much do these trips help? When I first got into my career I stood down with the camera guys right on the field and I'll tell ya what....... can't help but get goosebumps when the team runs out and everybody goes crazy!!!!
You'd think a lot. Especially if they pound the Trojans. The cool uniforms, the loud stadium, the pinball style of play. Its why Oregon is recruiting like bad ass mofo's right now.
Byron Marshall's trip to UW for the Oregon game meant so much to him that he gave his verbal to the Ducks a week later without taking an official visit to Autzen/Eugene. Rumor is he'll be in Eugene Saturday for the game.
he has good size, and is really smooth and athletic. He's supposed to be a really great kid and a heavy Trojan lean in the past week it has been reported that the Ducks said thanks but no thanks to two different top rated DBs, Ishmael Adams and Gerald Bowman. According to the players, Oregon has told them they're full. Interesting... STOMP
also This weekend is HUGE for our D-line. Armstead, Ekakitie, Buckner hopefully added to Balducci, Castro. Take a look at our class so far. 7 of our 13 recruits are Defensive players. And I'm not sure what Terrence Daniel projects as. If he is a DE that could be 8. http://oregon.rivals.com/ Oh and we could pray that a beatdown of USC could help in landing Mccarthy too
They really do have a lot of young DBs who are proving ready to play and they only graduate two guys (Pleasant & Gildon). This 2012 class already features up to 3 kids depending on which side of the ball Oshay plays plus they have Isaac Dixon redshirting. It could also have been that the team felt that those two prospects didn't fit in with them personally. There also has been some other top DB talent (Daniels & Thompson) to tour through too and it's possible that the Ducks may have secured someone else. Another thought is their general less is more approach to recruiting. The Ducks are usually one of the last teams to hand out an offer to recruits, even top ones who've expressed some interest. They've also scheduled relatively few Official Visits. Maybe they want to generate a little pressure on their PSAs to grab one of the few remaining spots? could be a lot of things Daniels is all DLine. According to him the plan is he's going to fill out and play inside. You left off Carringer who like Daniels isn't rated high, but they offered early in the process following having him in their summer camp. So thats 4 guys already in this class and they only graduate Turner and Hanna. They also have 3 guys redshirting. oh nos :MARIS61: the Ducks might have too many good DLineman STOMP
Hey STOMP, what position do you think Randy Uzoma would play, if we could pull him away from Nevada? I've heard he is freakishly athletic and that he hasn't been playing HS football for that long. Given his size he could play a number of positions.
the reason for the buzz about his athleticism is because he tested out #1 of 1,000+ kids who did the Nike Combine this past summer http://rise.espn.go.com/football/articles/2011/04/02-Long-Beach-recap-Nike-combine.aspx At 6'2 190 he probably projects best at WR, Safety, or even LB. With limited football experience, pretty sure he'll Redshirt so plenty of time to sort that out. STOMP
If we get McCarthy and Shaq with what we already have our D is hubbed for years to come! Oregon needs to kill the Trojans.... I'm excited for this one!
