The pride that exists with the Red Wings organization
will be on display this afternoon at MSG. The Rangers
will be their opponent. Wonder how Rangers play this
game? Game means nothing to them and everything
    to the Wings.
Too bad. Would love to see the Rangers
show the same determination the Wings demonstrate.
    We shall see.

I'd rather see the stupid Flyers get left out.

Flyers blew it all by themselves.
Losing to Maple Leafs at home and
can't beat their cross state rivals.

AV is a funny man. In meaningless game, he is rotating three lines. I guess he cares about the third place so much.

What a bunch of idiots. Now we get the Pens. And the Wings suck also. My lord you come in playing for your season and you play like crap in the 1st period. Then you back in because the Bruins are even worse. That Atlantic bracket is an f'ing gift for the Isles. We are so f'ing stupid...sorry but that's honest. The Atlantic is terrible. The Isles can no doubt come out of that bracket.

Panthers, Lightning, and Wings...my god that is a gift.

Mark my words...we will 10000000000000% regret this when we lose to the Pens in 5 or 6. AND if we find a way to get by them, we'll get the Caps as the Atlantic has the Panthers, Isles, Lightning in their 2nd round.

    Ridiculous. I am pissed.

I'd rather play Pitt than Florida but not Washington in the 2nd obviously. If Staal is out we are in trouble either way.

If the Islanders beat Buffalo don't they hold the tie breaker?

I know you would 71. What I would love to know if why? Can you give me some reasons please. And PLEASE do not say MAF who had a 2.12 GAA and .927 SV% against us last season AND a 2.40 and .915 SV% the prior playoffs.

So please enlighten me why the better path is the Met and the hottest team in the NHL, with a top 3 player in the NHL, and Malkin most likely back by game 3 or 4 of the series.

I would LOVE to hear why the red hot Pens are the better matchup than the totally unproven and untested Panthers. I can't wait for this logic...LOL.

AND when you factor in round 2 it isn't even a conversation. The Atlantic division is junk compared to the Met, but you guys all wanted the Met. I would love to get that logic.

No...the Isles need 3 of 4 points this weekend to get 3rd. We have the TB not them.

Now the Flyers game means nothing tomorrow night IF the Flyers beat the Pens (without Crosby and Letang), but the odds of 2 Isles wins is slim. If they lose in regulation tonight we are 3rd.

And if the reason is we have to play who we have to play anyway...yeah I agree...but that still isn't a reason to want the Met/Pens over the Atlantic/Panthers. That's just a statement that doesn't answer the question of why the Met over the Atlantic.

I agree now that it will be the Pens we go play and nothing else matters. Still doesn't answer why one would rather be in the Met bracket.

The Islanders would have to get 3 pts today and tomorrow. Florida is a big, young team up front and imo a better offensive team than Pitt. Especially if Malkin is out. They are similar to the Isles who we have big problems with.

The Pens are 3rd in goals per game. The Panthers are 8th in goals per game. AND Malkin will be back game 3 or 4.

You making up fake reasons doesn't count 71...LOL.

And I flat out disagree Prod. I am not saying you try to lose the game intentionally, but it was no doubt better if we lost that game.

AGAIN...we lose in 5 or 6 to the Pens we'll look back on today and say you play to win the games...LOL.

This is a bad win, whether you guys want to accept it or not. The much better path was the Atlantic...that's it. That is why EVERY SINGLE hockey writer/expert/commentator said the same thing.

Now that we have Pitt...it is what it is and we go play. Hopefully this doesn't bite us, but I think it certainly may.

And hopefully G and Staal are ready game 1, and McD by game 3 or 4.

This is one of those times where the hatred of the Pens, combined with playoff issues the past couple of years clouds judgment. I truthfully cannot see one honest legit reason one would rather play the hottest team in the NHL with Crosby and Letang over the totally unproven and untested Panthers. Double so when you see the Caps in round 2.

BUT...it is what it is now...so we move on.
