St. Francis - Michael Redd does not forget.

The Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard was rewarded for his efforts over the first five years of his National Basketball Association career by being presented with a maximum-salary free-agent contract, which he signed over the summer to remain with the franchise.

Now, Redd plans to make an effort to thank teammates who helped get him where he is today.

"I've thought of guys, whether they were here last year or not, and doing something special for them," Redd said.

Redd is not going to have to go back over the team rosters from the previous five seasons to see which players he wants to contact. He knows who they are.

Some of names are obvious, veteran players such as Ray Allen and Sam Cassell who helped Redd when he was first breaking into the league as a second-round draft choice in 2000. But some of the other names might come as a surprise.

"It's the Rays and the Sams," Redd said. "But also the Lindsey Hunters, Greg Fosters and Jason Caffeys. They put me under their wing."

Redd's thank you might come in the form of a gift, or an invitation to his home, or maybe just a phone call.

"I don't know yet (how to thank everyone)," Redd said. "I'll find a way. I don't know yet. They were good to me. I never forget that stuff. I'll talk to them, that I appreciate them."
