"On Wednesday afternoon, Mike Shanahan said that the Washington Redskins discussed trading down three different times, and that's exactly what they have done.

The Redskins sent the 10th overall pick in the NFL draft to the Jacksonville on Thursday night in exchange for the Jaguars' first- and second-round picks (Nos. 16 and 49 overall, respectively), accomplishing their goal of acquiring more picks.

The Redskins entered this draft with bountiful needs but limited picks. Now, because they still hold their own second-round pick (41st overall) they have a chance to pick up two starters and a quarterback of the future in the first two rounds of the draft."
