<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Q: What have these couple of weeks been like for you? Gaines: It’s been pretty hectic, traveling around, a different city every day. But, it’s also been fun just competing and having a chance to visit some of your favorite teams and play ball. Q: Do you have feel for where you might end up? Gaines: I don’t know. It’s so crazy. It changes like every day where you hear something new. I just try to stay out of it. I got invited here, so hopefully that’s a good sign. Q: Does it matter to you where you are playing next season? Gaines: No. I just want to play for the team that wants me the most, and a team where I have the chance to play right away. It doesn’t really matter to me which team that is. Q: Are you confident that you will be able to step in and help a team right away? Gaines: I think I’ll be able to contribute right away, but it’s such a big jump from college. The NBA is so tough, with so many good players, that for me to contribute means I’m going to have to put in a lot of hard work in the offseason and hopefully have a lot of veterans around me who can help me learn the game a lot quicker. Q: What do you think will be your biggest adjustment? Gaines: The competition is so high at this level with so many great athletes, but I think the biggest adjustment is going to be the amount of games and the amount of travel. You have to be focused every day and that’s going to be a challenge for any rookie. Q: Do you think you have an advantage since you played for Rick Pitino? Gaines: I think so. He mentally prepares you for the NBA in terms of every practice is like a game. There are no days off. If you played 40 minutes one night and had practice the next night, you’d still have to give the same effort that you gave in the game. He prepares you to be mentally tough and that’s what you need to be at this level if you want to be successful. Q: How does it feel being invited to this event? Gaines: It feels pretty good, but it will feel even better once I hear my name called tomorrow. It will feel a lot better.</div>
