Rockets guard Bob Sura had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday, but with no further surgery needed on his sore back, the Rockets have to hope that playing without so much knee pain will allow him to move more freely and cause fewer back problems.

"The cartilage on the end was pretty chewed up," Rockets trainer Keith Jones said. "(The injuries) were unrelated, but Bobby was in a lot of pain the second half of the year."

Rockets center Yao Ming might not be headed to ankle surgery after all. The procedure had been planned for most of the season, but the latest medical opinion this past week indicated rehabilitation would suffice.</div>

Would this possibly mean that Yao would sit out of the Asian Games this summer, or would his rehab be done by then?

Btw, good to hear Sura had surgery. If he could play like he did in the first half of the season for the rest of the year, our PG spot would be much stronger.

Bobby has really never been 100% all season. He has always had aches and pains with his back and knee. So hopefully he can use this offseason to get at 100%.

Sura might be able to rehabilitate his knee but I'm not too sure about his back. He's been having chronic back problems for years and I don't think there's anything he can do about it other than suck it up. As for the knee, I've noticed he's been wearing that brace I think around the All-Star break so thats probably what caused his poor performances in the second half of the season.

Sura before the All-Star break was playing like our third best player with his passing and defense. Then, during the All-Star break, his back sort of froze up and he missed around 5 games. After that, he just wasn't himself, and that was why his minutes decreased, also because of the addition of James.

Good news about both...I hope Sura rehabs well, I would love to have him healthy for another season...He gives the Rockets that toughness that Mario Elie used to give them...and I really hope Yao gets to rest this offseason, he both deserves and needs it...
