<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS - Dan Gilbert was the first to admit he'd made a mistake.

The Cavaliers owner showed up to his team's summer league game Sunday wearing a light blue shirt. Problem was his team was playing the Denver Nuggets, clad in their signature light blue gear.

But if that was the only miscue of the week, Gilbert will come out just fine.

After two-plus months of intense scrutiny and high-pressure decisions, Gilbert brought his family on vacation to the desert.

The biggest decision of all came last week when he agreed to pay Larry Hughes roughly $70 million over the next five years to be his shooting guard.

``We're very pleased with the way free agency has gone,'' said Gilbert, who is prohibited from commenting on Hughes until after he signs July 22. ``I'm relieved, and I'll be even more relieved when we get our entire roster filled out.''

Gilbert didn't settle on a general manager until less than a week before the free agency period began, but he's quite pleased with Danny Ferry's early work.

``There's no doubt that we've hired a passionate person in Danny and with (coach) Mike Brown,'' Gilbert said. ``They've been in there every night working until one or two in the morning trying to get deals done, and I know that it will pay off.''

The move, likely the biggest outside free-agent signing in team history, excited Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden, who attended the summer team's victory Saturday night.

``I think it's a great pickup for us. Larry is a great defensive player, and he's really going to help us score,'' Gooden said. ``Our starting five just got a lot better.''</div>
