Yankees playing the Pirates today at 1 PM with the game on YES.

Also the Blue Jays claimed ex Yankee Jesus Montero off waivers from the Mariners.

Montero seems to be a lost cause with any team.

Remember during the 06 Pan-Am Draft, Trashman told his scouts "Money is no object in this draft", and Montero at age 16, was given a cool One Million $$$$ signing bonus....(that news blew my mind). Scouting reports said Montero was the best Catcher in that draft. I thought back then, in years to come, keep your eye on this kid, and he turns out to be shit. That's what ya' get when you give a 16 yr old Venezuelan Po-Boy bigger bucks than he can count too...

another Trashman fk up, to add to the list of Trashman's accomplishments...

All these kids have promise....until they don't.

Because of ample supply, most teams really don't go out of their way to develop them. They either conform and perform to whatever benchmarks are set, or not.

I have met too many kids under 20 with TJ scars because throwing 90-92 doesn't cut it. So they take the gamble, what else are they going to do? These kids were the jocks and stars in high school, not too many planned on a back up career.

Or- Rotator Cuff Scars, from throwing junk, screwballs, as well as flames, tho' one might assume older players blow out cuffs. From what I've seen coming out of H.S.; one need not be an older player to need a cuff repair...

and NOT Broadcast here, why do I get the feeling, we're not going to see near the games of older years, when the Yanks put a Pennant Caliber Team on the field, every single year; and we'd get 3-5 games a week here in So. Cal. Not sure I want to spend the $$$ this year for MLB Xtra Innings, .... but damn was it nice to have...!
