In a move that should surprise no one, UFC Interim Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao, following in the footsteps of UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit, has decided against defending his belt and will instead wait for Dominick Cruz to be healthy for the unification bout, rendering the interim title pointless. THE WHOLE IDEA OF AN INTERIM TITLE IS TO KEEP THE TITLE ACTIVE WHEN THE CHAMPION IS OUT! If the UFC allows these guys to sit out then they shouldn't have interim titles or better yet they should strip them.
