    The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation into complaints that the transmission coolant line in the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder can leak, causing the transmission to fail.

    The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation into 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti JX35 models for a possible issue with the transmission.

    The probe, which affects about 110,000 vehicles, will look at consumer complaints of transmission failure, the federal agency said in a statement.

    So far, five owners have reported a leak in the transmission cooling line, which has resulted in a loss of power from the transmission.
