Wow, season 3 solidified this as my favorite show on television. I have to wait until at least April for season 4, as it has been confirmed.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The decision came after the show enjoyed a substantial ratings increase and a bit of controversy over a June episode, the next season will likely start in spring 2007, Zap2it.com reported Thursday.

"Rescue Me" is a key part of one of FX's stated goals, which is to foster some of the best episodic series on television", FX President John Landgraf said. "(The cast and crew) have done an incredible job on Season Three and the audience and critics responded with continued loyalty and passion. We are enormously proud of this series and of Denis (Leary's) Emmy nomination for best actor."

This season of "Rescue Me" has drawn about 2.9 million viewers a week, which is a 10-percent increase over Season Two.

The show has seen some controversy lately with a scene in June in which Leary's character sexually assaulted his estranged wife.</div>

April's far away, but I have the Shield and 24 coming up in the Fall lineup to keep me tied over until the Spring lineup.

Damn, that last episode was good. I'm thinking the new season will start out as Tommy dreaming, I hope so. I regret not watching the beginning of this season, oh well, I'll have to catch it on DVD.

I think this is one of the best shows on tv, but I didn`t like the finale. It just felt rushed to me...

    Season 4 though, I can`t wait.

Season 3 was awesome, up until the finale. I do agree, it felt rushed.

I know we're going to get a season 4, and I'm hoping for a season 5. After that, I don't want it. I don't want to see this show turn into something shitty. They've had 3 strong seasons.

I'd like to see a couple of episodes next year to be a prelude to season 1. I'd like to see maybe a 9/11 episode (that could be hard and disrespectful, if you think about it). Or a pre-9/11 episode. I want to see Jimmy and Johnny working together. Franco as a probie. Garrity as a probie. Whatever they do, this show is one hell of a show.

Haha yeah the beginning of the finale was great seeing the chief boss around Garrity and Franco when they were probies, and seeing Tommy`s cousin joke around at the firehouse. Great episode as always, but crappy ending.

A Season 2 episode had some kinda of 9/11 theme to it. Tommy was having crazy flashbacks and it showed the crew walking through all the wreckage and all.

As for the show in the future. I heard 5 to 6 seasons are expected to run.

FX seems to like doing 5-7 seasons of their shows.

I know the Shield is getting 7 seasons. Their 6th season is coming up, and the final season will be season 7.
