I don't think he will do much for the Kings. I think if you really want to see something happen, the Kings should look to package Peja and some future picks to Golden State for Eric Dampier and Troy Murphy/Clifford Robinson. That's just my opinion. Then go out and sign a small forward like Toni Kukoc. This would definitely strengthen the front line giving the Kings a rotation Miller, Webber and Dampier at the 4 and 5, while adding depth on the bench with Robinson and/or Murphy. The guard spot is set with both rookies, Bibby, Jackson and Christie. This is just a suggestion simply because odds are, they can't afford Dampier, But a guy can dream...

I don't think that sending Peja anywhere (let alone in the West) would be a smart move for the Kings. Robinson is old and Dampier is very uncertain. I have sat in the Arena in Oakland in years past and heard everyone say how overpaid Dampier was before whatever huge contract he is about to get. He only plays hard when his money is on the line. Besides, he and miller are too simliar players IMO.

Divac Will probably play one more Year here, and Retire.I See him more as a Teacher's Player, someone who will help out with the Younger Players,i mean he can still play, but i would prefer him to see him in a mentoring role with the Kings

If Divac doesn't wanna play in Sactown, eff it then. I didn't feel good about him resigning anyway, the guy's old. He brought a lot to this team, but if he wants to play somewhere else then so be it.
Dampier could be an option. He had a good year, but how do we know he'll stay consistent?

I wouldn't worry too much, you guys got Miller at the center spot anyways. Pick up a FA center like Vin Baker or Kevin Willis and y'all will be fine.

it would be really good to have Divac there just because of the intangibles he brings.

am i going to cry myself to sleep at night if he signs with another team? not really... but i would like to see him stay here.

^I guess you didn't read the new article. There is almost no chance that he will be returning to the Kings. He's likely to sign with the Lakers or the Clippers.

I don't think that him wanting to play for another team is the biggest reason he's leaving. Sacramento just doesn't want him anymore, they're more interested in saving money on the luxury tax. Considering all the years he's played for them and the most they're willing to offer him is 2.5 million, it's pretty insulting.

Well, it's all but done. Vlade will be joining the Lakers. They have more money to offer him, and are willing to pay him more. Not that I'm complaining, but if the Kings are going to be serious contenders in the west next season, doesn't anyone else believe that they need to make some moves to strengthen the bench now that Vlade opens up a spot for a back up center.

    meh...

gives miller the opportunity to start (where he is much better rather than coming off the bench)

and the FA signing of John Edwards gives someone off the bench (i just hope he can play well enough to relieve Miller)

we shall find out soon enough im sure

yeah, but keeping divac could have still allowed miller to start and divac coming off the the bench. i think this was a bad move by petrie.

Oh well, good luck to Vlade, itwasn't like it was a big loss to the organization anyways, we should jsut focus on other things in the offseason now and try to get some FAs and maybe work some trades. IMO, there was no big loss in this.

not so much a bad move by Petrie, as a casualty of the salary cap...just didnt have enough money to resign him

like i said, i would like to have seen him stay, but it was apperently not in the cards.

That's business. We got to deal with it. But, the Kings won't be the same without him.

Maybe...Or Maybe not...Divac wasn't the same player he use to be,but in my opinion he was still a Valuable acid to the Kings..He was good with working with the Young guys when his skills were keeping his butt on the bench, but also this gives Miller more playing time in Center,so Miller's got the oppturnity to take the Kings to a Higher ground so to speak...It's Mixed up this move, but we all will find out in a couple months!

This really rubs me the wrong way. Of all the teams, he just had to sign with the Fakers didn't he? [IMG]

well, its the team he started with, still has a home down there, keeps him in california where he has been for all but 2 years of his career and they gave him 10.2 mil over two years... makes some sense to me.

dont like it, but i can understand it
