Re: Rest not at top of Yao's 'to-do' list this summer <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>May 10, 2006, 12:02AMON BASKETBALLRest not at top of Yao's 'to-do' list this summerBy JONATHAN FEIGENCopyright 2006 Houston ChronicleAs always, Yao Ming arrived at Toyota Center early, fighting the Katy Freeway traffic to reach the court by about 9:30 a.m. Before long, he was back on the court, dropping in shots, one after another, with the touch too soft for a player so large, still so remarkable even after four years of evidence in the NBA.He was different, though. He looked short.Yao, still wearing the boot to protect the healing of his broken left foot, had taken a chair to the court and launched his shots while sitting, if nothing else, finally perfecting Rockets assistant head coach Tom Thibodeau's command for the low-post fundamental, "Sit down."There probably is not much to gain in working on his shot from a chair. But Yao just couldn't stay away.More to the point, he doesn't want to.After all this time, that is the part of Yao that people just don't get. He is blessed with his size and abilities, driven and responsible. But he also just loves to play. He does all this because he knows he should, but also because he wants to.SourceMore Info At The Source.</div>
Re: Rest not at top of Yao's 'to-do' list this summer I think the Rockets will do great next year. Maybe 5th or 4th seed. I think they'll be up there with the Mavericks. They need a better PG than Luther Head, because hes a scoring PG when they need someone who could easily sit up Yao and Tmac. Thats Rafer Alston. than Yao of course, who next year maybe can average 24/12. And also, Yao needs to bulk his little ectomorphic ass. He needs to gain muscle and lose the pansy act because he will not become an NBA legend this weak. he needs to become stronger physically and mentally. And he needs to crash the boards better. but of course he'll have help next year doing that with stromile swift. I think Stromile can get to be a hard defensive presence once you put him in the game for a while. T-Mac needs to cut his scoring from around 28 ppg to like 23, 22 ppg, so Yao can dominate more easily. there's just so much talent in what they can set up for their starting 5. i think they have a bright future. they wouldve been a playoffs team this year if it wasnt for yao's injuriers and tracy's injuries.
