So I haven't been following the league much this year, but one thing I did notice is the diminishing role of Aaron Brooks in Houston. Now it looks like the Rockets could be making a play for Johnny Flynn. If that trade works out then what do you think of trying to obtain Aaron Brooks, and at what cost? Houston runs their team from a very statistical and analytical approach, so they won't give him away. Despite him being from Oregon (OSU Alum here) is he someone you can see being a potential starting PG on the team. I know that many of us thought he would work well next to Brandon Roy, although that seems less likely now given his injury prognosis. In any case, he averaged 18PPG last year and could be a buy-low option. What do you all think?

Last year is so far his only good season in the NBA. I think it's more likely that that was the aberration, not this season. I also think he's a pretty ineffective defender.

I think he'd make a perfectly fine back up point guard of the future, but not a starter. I think Houston will be looking for more in return than I'd be interested in offering for him.

Brooks would have been useful last night. Blake was stopping Rudy, who's dribbling looked like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Let's not also forget the abuse that Brooks gave Blake in 2009 playoffs.

Yeah, as I said, he'd make a solid backup point guard. Much better than Mills or Rudy, as neither of them is really a point guard. I just don't think Houston would trade him for reserve value.
