I realise he is young has had issues when he is pressured.. But have you noticed the first few games he started in his career he would move in the poket and try to run some if needed but after injury after injury.. i have noticed this year when pressured he doesn't move them the poket much.. i am wondering if he is worried he will get hurt agian if he does
Interesting thought. I think it is just him being a young QB who doesn't know how to handle the pressure yet. It seems as if he panics a bit when the pressure comes at him. Personally I don't think he will overcome his panicky ways this season, and I do think that people are going to exploit this 'discovery' every game that they can. The question is, are the Bears good enough to coach around this?

Your going to live and die with a QB like Grossman. He's always looking for the big play and lately it's been backfiring. Although if he connects it's great reward.
this what i am talking about here he is pressured throws it right to a NY defender.. hangs in the poket fumble.. move the fuck out grossman your not drew bledsoe move the fuck out of the poket.. throw it away......something
i think handling the pressure in teh pocket is something that has to be figured out by the QB, once he gets it though it is going to be scary. but for now he is going to struggle if the offensive line cannot contain the rush.
You guys are talking about him like he's a rookie. He's not...anything that he should have by now he might not ever develop. B1F is right. He isn't mobile anymore. I thought the Bears would win this game though because the Giants would have trouble getting pressure on him with Strahan and Osi out. They do only have two sacks and Grossman hasn't been in terrible pressure, but he's costing his team when he is under pressure.
alright hes a 3rd year guy but he hasnt been playing a lot, hes been injured most of his career. He hasnt gotten the number of snaps a 3rd year guy should have. I think he can still develop a pocket presence to become a great QB

I think Grossman just doesn't have the pocket presence aspect that is needed sometimes for the position.
ok so the bears won.. and grossman did good but the giants weren't getting pressure.. when they did he was all over the page.. he is awsome uncontested i want to see him make those plays while rushed
Grossman needs to improve, but I think year three is way too soon to give up on him. Wasn't Favre still struggling three years into his career? This year, Grossman just needs to keep from making big mistakes, watch the turnovers and realize he's on an excellent team that doesn't need him to carry them. Just play smart.
Grossman played good, so this must be a fluke game. The real grossman would have turned it over 4 times. Blah blah blah, injuries, blah blah blah no pressure. The fact is no QB in league plays great when he is contantly getting plowed. You can make that argument all you want, it doesnt hold water. Good QBs get rid of ball quick. He hasnt had enough game experience to do that consistently yet. Look at mcnabbs sack totals as he got game experience. It is the same type of thing. Has nothing to do with mobility, or vick would be a good qb (maybe). Its just a learning curve thing. Denounce away. Bears have 2 game lead in conference with tiebreaker on 2 of the 6-3 teams. They are best team in NFL without a doubt and are going to win the super bowl.

I think Grossman just doesn't have the pocket presence aspect that is needed sometimes for the position.</div> well people are different, Romo has good pocket presence probably because Romo just knows how to manuver himself in the pocket, some players just don't know how to do that but that isn't to say that it can't be learned to feel the rush. Also I haven't watched Romo but I bet there are a few things that he needs to work on as a QB. Its his third year I guess its too late for him to learn though. Another thing most rookie QB usually do not know how to avoid the rush or adjust to the speed of the rush in the NFL, though Grossman is in his third year and leg injuries have messed him up so that may be a factor. For instance on NFL Live yesterday there was a segment on how Peyton Manning is a better mobile QB... he has been working on avoiding the rush and making throws on the run and his pocket presence for the last year and a half. And he has improved now teams cant just rush up the middle and think Manning is going to mess up. As others have pointed out as well, three years as a QB in the NFL is not that long of a time. There has to be a learning curve. There is no way you can say that if he hasnt developed that skill now he will never develop it, that isnt fair to Grossman. There is a learning curve and as DD said Farve was struggling in his third year. Most people think he has turned out pretty well. Pretty much i'm just saying in a few years, Grossman will probably figure out how to be mobile and how to avoid the rush in the NFL and he'll have pocket presence and he'll be considered one of the best in the league. Not giving him a chance to learn and develop more with his experience just isnt fair.
