A day after he was unavailable due to illness, Dennys Reyes was considered able to pitch for the Cardinals on Thursday afternoon at Coors Field.

Reyes said Wednesday night that he has been dealing with an infection for a few days. As a result, he was not considered "hot" for the Cardinals in their 8-7 loss to Colorado that night. On Thursday, however, he was in better shape.

"I don't think he feels as sick as he did yesterday," manager Tony La Russa said. "So my guess is he's OK."

Reyes, 33, has a 3.70 ERA in 37 appearances for the Cardinals this year. He's struck out 18 and walked 15 in 24 1/3 innings.
