Ricardo Arona hasn't fought for the past 18 months but there is a chance he may be fighting next year for Affliction.

According to a Brazillian newspaper who interviewed UFC HW champ Antonio Nogeuira, Affliction contacted Nogeuira's brother Antonio Rogerio Nogeuira about the possibility of Arona signing with them. Rogerio fought on Affliction's first (and thus far only) card. This would be a good addition to their LHW division as Arona was considered a top ten LHW when he was last active. Toss in former IFL LHW champ Vladimir Matyushenko to the mix and possibly Tito Ortiz (if Tito is being honest... yeah right), Affliction is building a fairly solid LHW division as they already have Little Nog, Mike Whitehead and Babalu too.

There were some murmurs that Arona wouldn't fight in the US because of strict drug testing but I hope that was just gossip.

Arona's a pretty good fighter but 8/13 wins have been by decision. North American fans want finishers. I don't think he is a draw.

yeah he is a bit of a bore, but I thought he was more aggressive in his last few fights.

other than adding a very good fighter to the 205 division in the UFC, I wouldn't pay money just to see Arona fight.
