I was pleased to hear that the Benedict Arnold-esque Mike Lomabari had finally been sh*t-canned. Al replaces him with an immediate upgrade - Rich Snead. Snead had been in the same role for the Tennessee Titans for basically the entire life of their team. As we all know, Tennessee has been pulling in good talent during his watch, and I would expect the same here.

The Raiders took Mike Williams in trade from the Lions in April. Williams, who had as much potential as any WR coming out of college, has spent the last few years on the injury report. No sooner did he get a chance to reestablish himself here in Oakland that he is again injured, and can't work out. Kiffin pretty much said that he lost his chance. Now, in comes Snead, followed by WR Travis Taylor and undrafted BYU RB Curtis Brown. I am aware of what Travis Taylor can do. Taylor is a solid receiver, who will move the chains, just the kind of guy we need in a short to med passing attack and provide depth behind Ronald Curry and Jerry Porter. Curtis Brown, I know nothing about not having watched BYU at all last season. His stats are respectable for an undrafted RB: 1,010 yards and seven touchdowns rushing, and 62 receptions for 566 yards 3 TD's receiving. My question is, what made Brown not draftable and is that really going to hurt him in a couple years when he might finally start at HB?

I don't know if Snead was responsible for Chris Henry whom TN drafted this year but probably had a hand in acquiring LenDale White. All-in-all, the Titans have done fairly well in drafting, etc... the past few years.

I am surprised that Curtis Brown went undrafted. He is a big power back w/ some shiftiness. Dare I say a poor mans Ronnie Brown. It amazes me that CB as well as bothe TE's from BYU (Harline & Coats) went undrafted. BYU's offense was alot like the Chargers; it ran thru the TB & TE's.

Briefly checking in and pretty much agreeing with ROTR on the Snead / Lombardi upgrade.

On the Mike Williams thing, I understood Kiffin to say that he had blown his chances with the Lions and was here for an attempt at a fresh start... the timing of the hammy injury was unfortunate in relation to the statement, but just a coincidence. Williams and Kiffen were together at USC, so Kiffen knows what he is and isn't going to be able to expect out of him... a not so fast but big and strong receiver. If he can get his ass into shape, something that he really never did in Detroit, he may find himself with a spot on the roster. Personally, I'm on the fence with Williams until he shows me something.
